Chrissy Teigen has had quite a run in the news over the last few weeks. Whether for her highly publicized feud with 'New York Times' author and chef Alison Roman, or her calling out celebrity friends for insisting she send them free products from her brand despite their financial status, Teigen has been a media force recently. Now, the former model is speaking out about her elective breast implant surgery and the decision she made to have them removed now.

For their March 2020 issue, Teigen sat down with Glamour to discuss a myriad of elements of her life, one of which was her suggestion that the breast implants she had done as a younger model were no longer necessary to her and she wanted to have them removed.

"I thought, if I’m going to be posing, laid on my back, I want them to be perky! But then you have babies and they fill up with milk and deflate and now I am screwed," Teigen told the publication candidly.

"I want them out now," the former model went on to tell 'Glamour' of the stressor her implants have become and how she was scared to undergo the surgical procedures needed to maintain them.

"If I could do one thing, it would be to have a lift. I think you’re supposed to replace [implants] every 10 years. But when you have kids you think about [the risks] of surgery and I think, 'This is not the way I want to die, in boob surgery.'"

The question of the elective surgery was raised again after Teigen shared a video to social media of her being swab-tested for COVID-19 on May 26. When a fan commented questioning why the seemingly healthy star was being tested for the virus, Teigen explained that she was going through on the previously touched on idea to have her implants removed.

"Everyone in LA can get tested for free. I’m having surgery and had to," she responded to the fan's comment on Instagram.

Following the fan inquisition, Teigen shared a subsequent official post confirming the surgery and her reasoning behind taking the COVID test.

"Hi hi! So I posted myself getting a covid test on the twitter, as I’m getting surgery soon," the star captioned a photo on Instagram.

"A lot of people are understandably curious (and nosey!) so I’ll just say it here: I’m getting my boobs out! They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it. I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie! So don’t worry about me! All good. I’ll still have boobs, they’ll just be pure fat. Which is all a tit is in the first place. A dumb, miraculous bag of fat," she concluded her explanation.
