Three years ago, Kanye West shockingly voiced his support for Donald Trump, by wearing the notorious Trump red “Make America Great Again” hat. That even resulted in Ye visiting Trump at the White House.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and Kanye went on to put out a 5-minute Thanksgiving prayer video, to Instagram. There, he also addressed wearing the MAGA hat, and even his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian’s take on it.
Kanye Says Kim Didn’t Like Him Wearing MAGA Hat
For Kim, she wasn’t a fan of Kanye supporting Trump. This is all despite her previously working with Trump, to help those wrongfully incarcerated.
“Good lord, my wife did not like me wearing the red hat. Being a good wife, she just wanted to protect me and our family. I made me and our family a target by not aligning with Hollywood’s political stance and that was hard for our marriage. Then I ran for president without proper preparation and no allies on either side. I embarrassed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one and—thank God—only press conference. All my dad had to say afterwards was, “Write your speech next time, son.”

Kanye Ran For President, In 2020
Kanye took his political stances even further, last summer. On July 4, he announced that he would be running for president. He ran into obstacles though, as documents weren’t filed in many states, for Ye to run. For many, he had already missed deadlines, to do so. Kanye went on to fix these issues in other states that he was looking to run in.
In November, Ye went on to receive over 60,000 votes, but didn’t come close, to challenging Donald Trump or Joe Biden, for the presidency. He did reveal on Twitter though, that he plans to run again, in 2024.

Kanye Is Still Hopeful For Kim Kardashian Reconciliation
In January, it was revealed that Kanye and Kim were heading for divorce. The two had been together since 2012, and married since 2014. Kim went on to file divorce paperwork, in mid-February. In recent interviews, such as his appearance on the “Drink Champs” podcast, Kanye claimed that he still wants to be with Kim, and that he hasn’t seen divorce paperwork.
While delivering turkeys for Thanksgiving at Skid Row, in Los Angeles, Kanye also explained how God and his kingdom, will bring he and Kim back together. He also admitted that he made mistakes as a husband, that he’s taking accountability for.
“If the enemy can separate KimYe, there’s going to be millions of families that feel like that separation is okay. But when the kingdom, when God, who has already won, brings KimYe together, there’s gonna be millions of families that are gonna be influenced and say that they can overcome the separation, the trauma, the devil that’s used and capitalized and keeps people in misery, while people step over homeless people to get to the Gucci store.”
