Iman Shumpert Planning To Resume NBA Career After Latest 'DWTS' Win

Earlier this week, Iman Shumpert had social media buzzing, after winning this season's "Dancing With The Stars" competition. He participated with Daniella Karagach, as their final dance was to Missy Elliott's "Lose Control," featuring Ciara, and DJ Clent's "Bounce."

Many originally known Iman for his time in the NBA. The last time that he played in a game, was back in late February, for the Brooklyn Nets. TMZ recently caught up with Iman, where he made it known that he's not an "ex-NBA player," which hinted at hopefully landing with a new team again, soon.

"Tryna see what we can get done," Shumpert said, "I love basketball. I never stopped playing. "They call me a 'former', 'ex' but I told them the league just didn't pay me this year. "It's not an 'ex' thing. Me and the league didn't break up!"

Iman was first drafted into the NBA, back in 2011, as he was the 17th overall draft pick, by the New York Knicks. Iman spent four seasons in NYC, before heading to the Cleveland Cavaliers for three seasons, where won an NBA title, with LeBron James, in 2016. 2018-2021 had stints with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and Brooklyn Nets.

Iman has also been married to Teyana Taylor, for over five years now. The two are one of social media's favorite couples, as fans also believe that they're one of the best looking couples out. The two have two children together. Iman and Teyana also welcomed their second child, in September 2020, as they decided to have a home birth.

“At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!!” the father of two captioned a video of the newborn. “Now...when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy... but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital!”

In addition to being one of the most talented R&B artists out, Teyana is also a very good dancer, as evident in her concert performances. In September, she was asked by TMZ, about Iman's DWTS performances, and she revealed that his moves are things that she always sees, from him.

"I mean he's always at all my rehearsals. He's always jumpin' in my rehearsals dancing with me. I think he's doing amazing. The lines, the techniques, his versatility. I love it!"
