This week, Travis Scott hit the gold course in Palm Springs, with multiple celebrities. These included Michael Jordan, Mark Wahlberg, Kris Jenner's husband Corey Gamble, and actor Said Taghmaoui.
The Houston rapper definitely appeared to look concerned as his Astroworld Festival turned into a disaster, this month. Over 300 people were injured, and 10 lost their lives. Over 300 lawsuits are also on the table.
Another Lawsuit Gets Filed Against Travis
There have been tons of massive lawsuits against Travis, with now, one being filed, for a 14-year-old boy, who died. According to People, this is the family of John Hilgert. Live Nation was also named in this suit, as they have others, as well. Attorney Richard Mithoff is representing the Hilgert family, in this case.
This lawsuit went on to be filed in Houston, on Wednesday. This states that Travis and organizers of the festival, failed to provide a safe environment, for attendees. Security was also an issue, as the lawsuit went on to mention that there was a "lack of personnel, barriers and emergency medical staff."
Father Releases Statement
John Hilgert's father, Chris, also released a statement to People, which expresses the pain they've been experiencing, since losing their young boys. He added that John simply wanted to enjoy his first concert, who he attended, with his friends. John's family is seeking $1 million in damages, from this lawsuit.
"The pain of our loss from our son John not making it home alive from an event such as this is intolerable. He was a beautiful young man who simply wanted to enjoy his first concert event with friends, whom he treasured spending time with more than anything else. This pain should never be felt by anyone over a loved one attending a live concert. Our sole aim in filing this lawsuit is to prevent this type of tragedy from ever happening again at a live concert. There is no excuse for the poor crowd design, event execution and lack of response that was exercised at this festival that resulted in the tragic death of our son and nine others along with scores of other people that were innocently injured."
Gross Negligence Is Being Cited
In this lawsuit by the Hilgert family, it also states that the festival had "gross negligence" and "reckless disregard," for their son. These were said to have caused "his injuries and subsequent death."
"Defendants egregiously failed in their duty to protect the health, safety, and lives of those in attendance at the concert, including but not limited to the failure to provide adequate security personnel to implement crowd control measures, proper barricades, and the failure to provide a sufficient amount of emergency medical support."
Travis Is Also Battling A $2 Billion Lawsuit
In addition to this $1 million lawsuit filed by the Hilgert, there is also a $2 billion lawsuit, against Travis. Attorney Thomas Henry is representing 280 plaintiffs, and also cited safety issues and concerns, from Astroworld Festival.
"The Defendants stood to make an exorbitant amount of money off this event, yet they chose to cut corners, cut costs, and put the festival attendees at risk."
