Meghan King Edmonds and her estranged husband, Jim Edmonds, are reportedly at odds over the custody arrangement they currently have for their children.
According to a May 19 report from Us Weekly, the former “Real Housewives of Orange County” couple’s kids are currently in St. Louis, Missouri with Jim and his girlfriend, Kortnie O’Connor, after spending the past several weeks with Meghan at the rental home she is living in as she continues to host her Los Angeles-based podcast, “Intimate Knowledge.”
According to a rep for Jim, he’s happy to have Aspen, Hayes, and Hart with him and Kortnie in St. Louis.
“Meghan’s social media and blog posts the past few weeks have been somewhat distressing and Jim was a bit concerned about her state of mind,” the rep explained. “Just to be clear, Jim has not traveled at all during the pandemic; he was in Nashville right before the situation escalated and has stayed home ever since. As happy as Jim is to have the kids home, he did not require Meghan to travel during this shutdown and bring them back.”
A friend of Meghan’s also spoke to Us Weekly magazine, revealing that Meghan has been taking precautions as she continues to pursue a new romance with Christian Schauf, who she reportedly began dating earlier this year..
“Meghan took every precaution to spend time with someone who makes her happy, after taking care of her kids for nine weeks in a row, and after being cheated on, left, and finding out via the media that Jim filed for divorce, then immediately moved on with a former friend and moved her into the home Meghan built,” the friend shared, clearly throwing shade at Jim.
As for Jim, he’s taking precautions to stay safe as well but won’t be testing his kids for COVID-19.
“He felt there was no reason to put the kids at risk by bringing them to a hospital or testing facility considering they had absolutely no symptoms and were fine,” the rep shared.
Meghan “took the kids to Los Angeles without Jim’s knowledge or consent,” so for “her to demand that Jim send a private jet to pick them up is a bit much,” Jim rep’s continued.
In response to Jim’s rep’s claims, Meghan’s rep told the magazine, “Meghan was within her rights to take the kids to California and to St. Louis and Jim asked that she bring them to St. Louis.”
Meghan and Jim appeared on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” together during the show’s 10th, 11th, and 12th seasons before quitting the Bravo series to move to St. Louis, where they planned to expand their family further with the addition of their twin sons.
