Camila Cabello Settling For Puppy Love This Thanksgiving Post-Breakup

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Camila Cabello. Her seemingly odd breakup from Shawn Mendes still looms, at least in the news cycle. Cabello is potentially going to have a very pet friendly Thanksgiving. The Cuba native singer shared a video on her IG page where she can be seen in the company of three dogs with kind of a messy look on her. It doesn't seem like she's in a hurry to get ready for dinner. Then again, Thanksgiving isn't exactly a holiday that is highly celebrated in her native Cuba. That may have something to do with the fact that she's flowing free this Thursday.

Recently Cabello spoke to PEOPLE about her breakup from Shawn Mendes. Both parties have acknowledged that they have a ton of love for each other. However, Cabello mentioned that she kind of wants a break from everything. In the interview she recalled that she's been on the grind since she was 15 years old! Some quiet alone time with her dogs seems like the perfect remedy for her at this point. Cabello mentioned,

"I was barely home. I didn't have time to get to know who I was outside of my career. Pile that onto struggles with mental health, with anxiety, with these toxic levels of stress, it wasn't even a meltdown because I would just work through it."

It sounds incredibly harsh to say that you are thankful for COVID. Obviously, the disease itself has proven to be no joke. However, there were quite a few folks that found the lockdown to be a blessing in disguise. That seems to be the case for Cabello. Maybe the messy hair and hanging out with her dogs is a lockdown tradition that she wants to relive for the holidays. In talking about how the lockdown maybe have been a blessing for her, she mentioned,

"I felt like I was running a marathon with a broken leg. I kept going, but it was extremely hard. And I wish that I would've just been like, 'Let me just stop for a second and get a nice cast for my broken leg and get some physical therapy.' But I didn't. COVID stepped in and kind of did it for me."

Although Camila Cabello didn't reference anything that looked like she could be hoping to get back together with Mendes she did give a few details on why they broke up in the first place. Saying that she was feeling extremely anxious at the time and that her work-life just wasn't where it needed to be. Ultimately that put a lot of strain in the relationship and that's why they decided to call it quits. For now, Cabello seems just fine hanging out with her dogs for the holiday. She certainly could do much worse in the company department. More than a few folks would rather be with their dogs than their in-laws!
