Draya Michele clocked herself over 597,000 views overnight for an Instagram fashion display that upped the 35-year-old’s game.
Draya – currently running her multi-million dollar Mint Swim brand – opted out of her signature bikini as she posted a 7 minute+ video honoring her status as a Fashion Nova ambassador. The “Basketball Wives LA” alum kicked her video off with a stunning chic pants and mesh top look, with her 8 million followers seeing just how well this star can milk social media – Draya’s swimwear brand kicked off with the $12,000 she saved up, but it was worth $1 million by 2017.
Scroll for the video. It showed Draya giving fans a thorough walk-through of the affordable clothing giant’s stylish looks – Draya was shot against a plain wall and backed by her “amazing rack” of clothing as she modeled everything from the white pants-come-jeans with her fitted, braless, and white mesh top to slinky satin dresses and bustier tops. The theme was the caption-mentioned “Dressing in Neutral.”
Draya confirmed that she’s a size small. That, in itself, has proven a hilarious headline-maker this year as the Mint Swim CEO announced her own bikinis can be “roomy” – Draya then advised her customers to avoid a certain model if they were a size small.
The comments section now sees Draya showered with questions over Fashion Nova – the company’s marketing execs are likely laughing all the way to the bank knowing they picked the right influencer. One fan even threw out a figure on how much they anticipated Draya to have earned from her Fashion Nova partner status.
“Draya has made a cool $1,000,000 plus off fashion nova alone ? #BlackQueen.”
“It’s the body for me ?,” another said – nothing new here, with May 3 seeing Draya called “a whole snack” in her apple bottom jeans look.
Draya’s promos for Fashion Nova lack a #ad. However, with a partner status and a celebrity one, it’s largely accepted that Draya is likely netting herself some top-up cash. Experts over at Vox outlined how pay – which correlates with following – works on social media.
“Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000. Some can even get $250,000 for a post!”
Draya’s success as a former reality star may well be due to her unique knack for social media updates – early parts of COVID-19 saw the ex to Orlando Scandrick and Savage x Fenty ambassador washing floors in rubber gloves with Lysol as she wrote: “Living out my very own BRAZZERS fantasy.” Likewise popular have been bikini promos for the Kylie Jenner-approved Mint Swim label, with April seeing Draya strip down to a black one as she wrote: “I like ’em 6ft away.”
Draya’s Instagram also boasts a healthy celebrity following. Her account is kept tabs on by stars including Nicki Minaj, Kylie Jenner, Sofia Richie, and Olivia Culpo.
