Simone Biles has spent most of COVID-19 showing Instagram exactly why she’s the world’s most-decorated gymnast. The 23-year-old who now comes with 30 Olympic and Gold medals under her belt made global headlines in mid-April for her Handstand Challenge – keep scrolling for it – but her weekend update came dedicated to what’s blocked in her life right now. Both the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and next month’s USA Gymnastics championships are either canceled or postponed, with Simone’s post today coming tinged with sadness.
Keep scrolling for Simone’s photo. It came as a throwback showing the Ohio native in full training mode – and with her trademark leotard wardrobe. Simone had been snapped backed by a U.S. flag and high up on a bar she was balancing on – likely prepping for one of her signature moves. The red-and-white leotard flaunting this muscle machine’s jaw-dropping body bore the CANDID logo mentioned in Simone’s caption – alongside fronting skincare brand SK-II, Simone is affiliated with the oral care company.
A caption from Simone read:
“My @liveCandid tip to stay strong: Mix it up. Obviously, right now I can’t train with my team but I like to go for walks or a jog to get some fresh air. I might do some sit-ups, lunges, and jump rope. And then as time goes by I find myself looking at online workouts and dance workouts too to mix it up. #emergestronger #livecandid #throwback.”
This little hard-hitter clocked herself over 30,000 likes in under 50 minutes. Keep scrolling to see Simone losing her pants in the Handstand Challenge now viewed over 2.3 million times.
Comments came in fast.
“You’re so inspirational, thank you! I’m sorry you can’t train with your team yet but I hope you will be able to soon??♥️,” one fan wrote.
“You should be able to train,” another said.
Simone has, indeed, been training in her own way at home. The gymnast’s April and May updates may have packed on the bikini photos amid her reported split from boyfriend Stacey Ervin Jr. – with rumors he cheated on her over Valentine’s Day – but the home-set and mind-blowing moves have continued. Simone’s Handstand Challenge saw her front media outlets as she both maintained the challenging position for a long period of time and simultaneously removed a pink pair of sweatpants with her feet. Oscar winner and MMA-trained actress Halle Berry left Simone a comment:
“I love you woman, but only YOU can do this,” the 53-year-old wrote.
Elsewhere, Simone has made headlines for her “Carole Baskin'” bikini shout-out to Netflix series “Tiger King,” plus her admission that she cried over the Tokyo Olympics postponement – Simone did, however, state that it was “the right decision.”
