Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is struggling to deal with one of the most dreaded complications of COVID-19: the COVID Toe.

Medically referred to as “pernio” or “chilblains,” a new study found that COVID Toe is often found in children and young adults who have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to WebMD, it’s unclear why some people get COVID Toe and others don’t, although one study suggests that it might be a sign that the body’s immune system is trying to fight off the infection.

Although it’s not yet clear if COVID Toe is contagious, the condition causes toes – or even fingers – to swell and turn bright red or purple. There might also be purple-brown spots that look like bruising. Although some people don’t feel anything, others can experience blisters, itching, pain, raised bumps, painful bumps, areas of rough skin, and pus.

Aaron Rodgers Is Still Facing Criticism For Vaccine ‘Lie’

According to The Daily Mail, when asked if he had any lingering effects after testing positive for COVID-19, Rodgers replied, “No lingering effects, other than the COVID toe,” which was described as “very painful.”

It can take from one to anywhere up to four weeks for COVID Toe to subside.

Rodgers has faced serious criticism for his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine. He earlier stated that he had been “immunized,” which many interpreted to mean that he had been vaccinated against the virus. However, after he tested positive for COVID-19, he revealed that he had not, in fact, been vaccinated.

Other athletes came out against Rodgers, including retired football player Terry Bradshaw, who said, “It would have been nice if he’d just come to the Naval Academy and learned how to be honest. Learned not to lie. Because that’s what you did, Aaron. You lied to everyone.”

Rodgers made things worse when he accused the “woke mob” of trying to cancel him over his controversial vaccine status and explained that “now good friend of mine” Joe Rogan – who also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year – had advised him to take ivermectin to treat COVID-19. Ivermectin, a known animal dewormer, has not been approved by the FDA for treating COVID-19 and many have been hospitalized from its toxic effects.

Fans Think Joe Rogan Should Help Aaron Rodgers Treat His COVID Toe

After his COVID Toe status was announced, fans couldn’t help but take to Twitter and got #COVIDToe trending.

“Packers threw about $20 million away this year for a guy who can’t play numerous games because he failed to vaccinate and ended up with COVID Toe,” one fan tweeted.

“Joe Rogan deserves to lose his medical license for not telling Aaron Rodgers about the possibility of developing COVID toe,” another fan joked.

“Didn’t Aaron Rodger’s vet tell him Covid toe was a possible side effect of Ivermectin?” another teased.

“After learning about Aaron Rodgers “Covid Toe”, the evil that speaks within me wishes that he was a kicker,” said another.

According to Doctor Esther Freeman, “The best way to avoid COVID Toes is to get vaccinated.”
