Colson Baker, professionally regarded as Machine Gun Kelly, would like to know what exactly is up with the Grammys…
MGK’s music has earned him a few reputable awards this year. On May 24, he won the category of Top Rock Artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
On Monday, the “Rap Devil” singer also took home the Favorite Rock Artist win at the American Music Awards, only to be snubbed by the Grammys.
Machine Gun Kelly Publicly Questions Grammy Rebuff
The Grammys are as famous for being controversial with their nominations and awardee selections as they are for being a coveted prize.
This year’s nominees list for the esteemed awards has dropped, and MGK took to Twitter to express his confusion over being snubbed from the considerations.
The artist’s 2020 Album “Tickets to My Downfall” was a huge success and topped the Billboard top 200 charts, yet was never nominated by the Recording Academy.

“wtf is wrong with the Grammys,” the “Forget Me Too” singer tweeted. His fans immediately rushed to the comments to throw shade at the Grammys and console him.
A fan replied to his tweet and wrote, “SAY IT WITH ME!! Machine Gun Kelly deserved to be nominated for a Grammy!!”
Another critic wondered why the Recording Academy took it upon themselves to do a segment on the “Bad Things” singer on October 19, only to ignore him during selections completely.
“So they interviewed you earlier this year, making it seem like its XX Year and then….wtf @RecordingAcad yall must’ve forgot about that?” the enraged fan wrote.
The “Papercuts” Artist’s ‘Darkest Fairy Tale’ Relationship With Megan Fox
Despite being crowned Hollywood’s hottest new power couple, MGK clarified that his relationship with Megan Fox is not free from imperfections.
The Blast reported that while being interviewed for the cover of British GQ Style’s 2021 Autumn/Winter issue, they spoke about how they were introduced and inspired each other.
The two briefly met at a LA GQ party and reunited on the “Midnight In The Switchgrass” set in 2020.
In May 2020, they began dating and made a red carpet debut that same year. The two credited themselves as each other’s soulmate, and MGK said Fox is his muse.
Nevertheless, the “Downfalls High” actor told GQ that they also “go to hell with each other,” adding, “I didn’t say it was the darkest fairy tale for no reason.”
Grammys Kisses Up To The Weeknd With Multiple Nominations
MGK’s snub for the 2022 Grammys is undoubtedly not the music academy’s first rodeo.
In 2020, Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, called the Grammys out for corruption on Twitter.
The Blast shared that the Recording Academy now seems to be kissing up to the “Save Your Tears” singer by granting him nominations even though he made no submissions this year.
The Weeknd decided to snub the Grammys for the foreseeable future, yet the committee nominated him for three awards, including two in the Album of The Year category.
The “Blinding Lights” artist did not let his Grammys debacle slow him down and has had a busy year, including stellar performances at the Super Bowl LV, in Tampa.
