Has Nicki Minaj taken another hiatus because she’s pregnant?
While the “Hard White” hitmaker is no stranger to disappearing from social media every few months, Minaj’s recent comments appear to hint that she might be expecting a baby, but could that be the reason we haven’t seen much of her lately?
The 37-year-old took part in a Twitter Q&A session earlier this week when she told fans she’d been experiencing common pregnancy symptoms, but Minaj wouldn’t confirm or deny whether she actually had a bun in the oven.
The question-and-answer session was held in support of a promotional campaign to back her feature on Doja Cat’s “Say So” remix, which had been competing with Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce’s “Savage” for Billboard’s’ No. 1 spot on the Hot 100.
Rumors concerning Minaj’s pregnancy came about when one fan asked the “Super Bass” hitmaker whether she’d been cooking anything special since finding herself isolating during the coronavirus pandemic.
In response, she tweeted: ‘Absolutely. Steak. Shrimp. Plus my famous cheeseburgers.’
‘So good. Been rlly having red meat cravings then salad cravings with extra jalapeños. Ordered Chkn nachos that didn’t come w/jalapeños. Who does that? Wow.’
But that wasn’t all. Minaj continued to leave fans speculating when she admitted to having nausea before joking about the idea of actually being pregnant.
‘Lmao. No throwing up. But nausea and peeing non stop. Omg what do u think this means guys???? Lmaooooooooooo,’ she said.
She then joked about wanting to wait another couple of months before showing off her baby bump to the world, along with a string of kiss emojis.
Either Minaj is being serious about starting a family with her husband, Kenneth Petty, or she’s just trolling her fans.
The platinum-selling female rapper has made it no secret in recent years that starting a family is definitely she wants to make a priority in her life.
Just two years ago, while talking about her family plans with Wonderland magazine, she told the publication: ‘I’ve got to get married first then I’ll have a child. I might be closer than people think actually.
‘I love children. I’m not going to put that off for much longer.’
In October 2018, Minaj tied the knot with Petty after a year of dating.
The couple recently moved to Los Angeles where they are also believed to be isolating together.
It’s also being rumored that Minaj is finalizing work on her fifth studio album, which has been in the works since early 2019.
In February, the Queen of Rap teased fans with a buzz single “Yikes,” which is said to be a teaser of what’s to expect from the forthcoming record.
