Justin Timberlake Called Out By Amanda Seales For Cowardly IG Post

Timberlake shared a photo of the victim with the caption; “If you’re not outraged, you should be. Justice for #AhmaudArbery.” Oddly enough, the comments were turned off. Seales felt like this was not support to the fullest extent and called out the “Cry Me A River” singer for this shady tactic. “Dedicated to @justintimberlake and the white artists showing ‘solidarity’ posting about #ahmaudarbery but closing their comments/IG replies,” “Ain’t no half steppin. This is how you ally. You get in the weeds with your fans who are also fans of racist rhetoric. #TURNEMON.”

While Seales did not share who those other “white celebrities” are but she did upload a video along with the caption. In the video she sang a cover of Teddy Pendergrass’ hit song “Turn Off the Lights”. She, of course, changed up the lyrics a tad bit you know, just to upset a few people. “This goes out to all those white celebrities. You see I turned off my comments ‘cause I got tired of arguing with racists. But you know what — it’s your turn,” said Seales at the beginning of the video.

“It’s time for you to see, who’s been following you. They gonna show ya, show ya true colors. Confederate Karen and her husband, red-faced Ken,” sang Seales. “You ain’t down because you posted a JPEG”. Seales let Timberlake and all those other nameless “white celebrities” know exactly how she felt with a sarcastic undertone and hard-hitting lyrics. She went on to sing, “you use our rhythm, now come get a taste of our blues, turn on the comments then get nosey, scroll through and tell me what you see.”

This is not the first, or last time that Seales has called out a number of celebrities. She famously called out Kim Kardashian in late 2019 for her frequent use of “blackface”. Timberlake has often been seen as a cultural appropriator for using R&B music and black musicians to make him famous. He has also been called out for being so emerged in the black culture but keeping his personal life very “white” and not usually there to stand up for black causes. Maye it’s time the culture revokes his cred.
