Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have tried to keep out of the public eye in recent weeks. After they deactivated their royal Instagram account, they didn't immediately replace it with another. Instead, they've maintained a relative silence on social media.

They did take something of a break from their social embargo earlier this week to celebrate their son Archie's first birthday. In a video released to social media, Meghan reads a story to Archie as part of the Share With Stories campaign.

In the video, Meghan reads "Duck, Rabbit" to Archie, while Harry is behind the scenes filming. In a note posted to her Instagram, actress Jennifer Garner thanked the former royal couple for shining a spotlight on the Share With Stories Campaign.

"Dear Meghan and Harry," Garner wrote in the post. "Thank you for sharing your gorgeous son with the world and allowing us to join you in celebrating his first birthday." She continued by thanking them for highlighting Share With Stories in the video.

"We are humbled and grateful that you chose @savewithstories to mark this special day and in so doing - have raised the visibility of @savethechildren’s work in the US and UK and have helped feed and educate children in desperate need of both," she wrote.

"More than anything - watching you lovingly talk through the pictures while your clever Archie turns the pages - lifts all of us up and reminds us that what may seem like a duck just might turn out to be a rabbit. Thank you for this joyful and meaningful shift in perspective."

Garner partnered with Amy Adams to start Share With Stories several months ago. The initiative is designed to raise awareness about the lack of food some children have as a result of school closures.

Other celebrities also weighed in to express their appreciation to the couple for sharing the post. The post also got a few negative responses, largely because of backlash to Meghan and the recent criticism she's come under from author Emily Griffin, who seems to have a distaste for Meghan.

Other than that post, Meghan and Harry have kept relatively quiet in recent days. The only other time the couple has been spotted in public is to deliver food in partnership with Project Angel Food. On a number of occasions, they've partnered with the charity to deliver meals to those in need around Los Angeles.

The couple moved to the city in March after living in Canada for a few months following their announcement that they would be leaving the royal family.
