One of the biggest bits of celebrity news while coronavirus quarantine measures have existed has been the situation surrounding the plans for baseball star Alex Rodriguez and singer Jennifer Lopez's highly anticipated wedding. After much speculation and back and forth over moving, altering, and outright cancelling plans, it appears that the couple has now unanimously decided to postpone the notion of any wedding ceremony indefinitely until a sense of normalcy can be restored to everyday life, per a source for HollywoodLife.

"Jennifer and Alex have completely put wedding planning on pause right now with no firm date in sight," the source told the publication, putting to rest rumors that the couple may try to find a way to hold their special ceremony amidst the quarantine measures.

"They’re being realistic about everything and were very much in the thick of it with lots of details in place before coronavirus happened," the source continued to explain of the planning procedures for the momentous event.

"Since nobody knows what’s happening in the world, there’s no sense in planning anything further right now," and instead of approaching a different way to the marriage, the couple is opting to hold out for a traditional ceremony whenever health officials deem it acceptable to do so.

Despite the less-than-ideal situation, the source continued to explain that the couple are keeping their hopes up and are excited to eventually make the wedding happen when it can be done safely and legally.

"Jennifer and Alex love each other very much and don’t need to be married to solidify that. They’re in a holding pattern like everyone else and will get back to it when it’s safe. As for now though, the focus is not on the wedding until this pandemic passes," the source explained of the couple's current mentality in regards to their special day.

With many states still extending stay at home orders as well as schools remaining closed indefinitely, the timeline of the power couple's nuptuals remains to be seen.

On the April 23rd episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', Rodriguez explained his and Lopez's feelings about their lives and wedding plans going forward, saying, "We have to go with the flow now — everything is fluid — and just pause and see where the world takes us."

"Obviously, this is unprecedented times, and for us, we just want to make sure safety is first and make sure all the little ones are in a good place," the baseball star added.
