Her acting credits are vast, but she is more known for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Natasha Romanoff, alias Black Widow. She portrayed the character from 2010 to 2021 and finally got her standalone movie "Black Widow."

The death of her character in the last "Avengers" sequel hurt fans. However, it sparked questions about a future return for the star. Although Marvel sometimes messes with the timeline to play to the script's advantage, her character's demise looked permanent.

Scarlett Johansson Will Return for Unnamed Movie

Johansson has starred in several installments of Marvel's Avengers as a shield agent. Sadly, her character died after sacrificing herself for the team to save the world. Her role ensured that doomsday was averted, and the earth returned to normal.

The actress then appeared in another film, "Black Widow," a solo flick for her Marvel character. Since the movie's debut, fans have hoped that she might still feature in some capacity for the franchise. According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced they are cooking something that features Johansson. He disclosed this tidbit at the American Cinematheque Award ceremony that honored the actor.

"We are already working with Scarlett on another non-Black Widow-related top-secret Marvel Studios project with her as a producer," the president said.

Fans have already predicted the actress would not be returning as Romanoff since she died in "Avengers: Endgame." Also, it is rare for the same star to take up two superhero characters, so this was also out of the question. Ultimately, Marvel's announcement to bring her back as a producer solved the puzzle about her future role.

Feige Expressed Admiration For Johansson At The Award Ceremony

While given a keynote speech at the American Cinematheque Award ceremony, Feige heaped praises on Johansson for her impact on the Marvel franchise.

He said, "Scarlett is one of the most talented, versatile, and beloved actors of our time. It has truly been a pleasure to work with someone of her caliber, from the epic training sessions preparing for the hallway fight in Iron Man 2 to the around-the-world press tour for Avengers: Endgame to partnering with you as a producer on Black Widow."

"Working with you, Scarlett has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career," he added.

With Johansson set to collaborate once more with the studio, it proves that her input is valued. For now, Marvel is yet to reveal the name of the movie to the public. Given the success of "Black Widow," fans can expect a similar blockbuster in the future.

Johansson Took Legal Action Against Disney And Marvel

Following Feige's statement, many were shocked about the future collaboration since they were recently were embroiled in a legal battle. The actress sued Marvel and Disney after the release of her standalone film. She alleged the duo ripped her off potential earnings by debuting the film simultaneously in theaters and Disney+ Premier Access.

The fight got heated, and several celebs weighed in on the matter, supporting the actress as she asked for her due. After much back and forth, they settled out of court.

She released a statement informing fans that she had resolved their issues and looked forward to more joint works. Fergie's announcement at the award ceremony further affirms there is no bad blood between the star and the studio.

Johansson Music Career And Humanitarian Activities

As an actress, Johansson has evidently done well for herself. Her movies have grossed billions of dollars, and she is the recipient of various awards during her storied career.

Additionally, she loves getting involved in feminine causes and has spoken at various events that help safeguard women from harassment and discrimination.
