When asked, Hamm revealed that he thought he would make a "terrible father" if he had children and wouldn't be able to stand the rigor that came with it. "I see my friends who have children, and I'm like, 'Dude, how are you even upright, much less here at work at 6 a.m.?" he expressed.

Many fans were supportive of him nonetheless, especially since people in his position may feel pressure to have children, but he isn't moved. His lack of interest in kids also inspired fans who intend to focus on other goals in life.

Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt had a long relationship that lasted longer than most celebrity marriages. The two even worked on projects together, including romantic comedies like "Friends With Kids" in 2011, during their 1997 to 2015 union.

The comedy movie revolved around the general expectation that romantic love should include marriage and children, although fans and critics said the film had a relatively normal conclusion.

Though the two were in a nearly two-decade-long relationship, Hamm and Westfeldt broke up on friendly terms in 2015 but didn't reveal many details to the press. However, In Style reported that Hamm was in rehab for substance issues at the time and also frequented parties.
