Iman Shumpert Made History With His "DWTS" Victory
PEOPLE revealed that Shumpert was more than the winner of the competitive dance show, the NBA star was also the first basketball player to ever achieve this feat.
On Monday night's finale, the 31-year-old broke "DWTS" records twice by initially becoming the first NBA player to reach the finals before making history as the winner of the show's 30th season.
The shooting guard expert was crowned champion after defeating the other three finalists — Amanda Kloots, Cody Rigsby, and JoJo Siwa in a dance battle.
The athlete and his dance partner blew the judges away with a combined cha-cha and foxtrot routine to "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire.
Thus incredible performance was followed by a freestyle to Missy Elliott's "Lose Control" and DJ Client's "Bounce." Both routines earned the dance partners a perfect 40 out of 40 score from the judges.
At the end of the night, Kloots came in fourth place, Rigsby landed in third and Siwa was second while the Mirrorball trophy was given to Shumpert.
