'It looks like it is going to be Netflix's biggest feature film of all time, which is absolutely mind-blowing and we are blown away by the response and the support,' the father-of-three told his 41 million followers in an Instagram video message.

While Netflix usually stays quiet on viewing figures concerning their original films and TV shows, the company did reveal that “Extraction” was streamed by ‘an estimated 90 million households’ since it’s premiere in late April.

The company is clearly ecstatic about the film's performance so far, but this is only the beginning.

COVID-19 Helped Its Success

That number is expected to rise in the coming weeks, with people across the world turning to streaming services such as Netflix to keep themselves occupied amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Working on the set of his latest project saw Hemsworth reunited with Anthony and Joe Russo, who famously directed the final two instalments of “Avengers.” This time, however, they were hired to write the captivating screenplay.

In his video message, Hemsworth continued telling his fans: 'So, on behalf of myself, the Russo brothers, Netflix, and director Sam Hargrave, thank you so so much. We love you guys.'

And given the incredible numbers that ‘Extraction’ has pulled in less than two weeks after its release has already left people wondering whether a sequel could be in the works - and from what the Aussie hunk has said, he would definitely reprise his role as Rake if the opportunity came along down the line.

But it seems as if Netflix hasn’t made a decision regarding a follow-up just yet. Fans, however, are very much under the impression that a sequel will certainly be in the works.

Hemsworth continued: ’There has been a lot of talk about sequels and prequels and all sorts of things and all I can say is who knows, but with this kind of support it is something I will be pretty stoked to jump back into.'

The “Men In Black” star has been isolating with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children India, Sasha, and Tristan in Australia.

But even the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t stopped Hemsworth from carrying on with promotional campaigns to publicize his latest film, having made a virtual appearance on several US talk shows in recent weeks.
