Kaia Gerber pulled off sexy, innocent, and breath-takingly beautiful all at once this weekend. The 18-year-old model and daughter to Cindy Crawford posted Instagram stories straight from the pool on Friday night – sunset in L.A. set the scene from the new Louis Vuitton face’s quarantine location as she filmed herself in a video – keep scrolling for it.
Bikini headlines have been pretty steady for Kaia amid COVID-19 – the slender beauty stripped down to a leopard-print one in April to show Instagram her foster puppy. Today brought zero swimwear whatsoever, though.
This girl knows how to pick her music. Kaia’s video, seen below, showed her soaking up the last sinking rays of the Los Angeles sunset, shooting herself close up and in selfie mode as she braved a topless look showing some tan lines from her previous swimwear bronzing sessions. The Marc Jacobs face wore zero makeup as she rocked her now-lighter bob, plus thick brows, also delivering a deep gaze as she listened to “Golden Slumbers” by British ’60s band The Beatles.
Kaia’s Instagram now comes complete with The Labelle Foundation-sourced puppies she’s fostering amid the global pandemic – the star was spotted in West Hollywood with dad Rande Gerber in April as she collected her second one. “Best friends” was the message as Kaia snuggled up to her pup, but the model has plenty more going on, having kicked off an Instagram book club that got off to a great start with Irish novelist Sally Rooney’s “Normal People.”
Kaia also DIY tattooed herself amid lock-down.
Kaia has also been studying amid COVID-19, taking an online course via Yale University. The rising star whose Instagram made headlines in 2018 for having higher engagement than Kendall Jenner or Gigi Hadid told Allure:
“I’ve just really been taking the time to make sure I’m healthy on the inside. In our minds, we keep going and going, and you don’t really have time to reflect on how your body is feeling and check back in. I’ve been very fortunate to use this time to check in with myself internally and that’s just been a really big part of my routine.”
Kaia told Allure that she hadn’t really gotten into popular online platform TikTok – the model did, however, make headlines in March for featuring in TikTok dances with supermodel Cara Delevingne, actress Ashley Benson, and “13 Reasons Why” star Tommy Dorfman.
“I haven’t personally gotten into TikTok yet because it makes me feel old,” she jokingly said, adding: “Which is crazy, but I still don’t know how to use it [and] the dances are so hard. I have so much respect for the people that take the time to learn them — it’s a true art form.”
