Things were not looking certain for the culinary competition series as Discovery was in talks of cutting the series a few weeks back after rumored demands made by the 56-year-old chef.

After gracing our screens for 27+ years with his tasty series, a source told The Post last month Flay and the Food Network could not come to an agreement and would be parting ways. It was said the stalled deal would come to an end due to Discovery, not Flay himself. Close sources to the Food Network told Variety the decision was made due to both parties being unable to come to a financial agreement.

People also reported last month the reason for the now-resolved situation is due to Flay wanting a contract worth $100 million to stay with the network, with a source telling People it's "strictly business." An insider told the publication the television host was looking for a deal to be "above" Guy Fieri's pay grade of $80 million, which currently makes him the highest-paid television chef on cable television. Fieri currently hosts 'Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives' on the network.

"Guy has a three-year deal," the source told the publication. "The terms of what Bobby was looking for were gravely different than just cash. The terms were longer, the scope of work was different and thus the dollars were different. It's not just $80 million to $100 million."

"The two sides were just way too far apart. It became clear the two could not and would not be able to come to terms and so the network decided to move forward without him," the source continued.

"Regardless, it was really much more amicable than you'd think. It was strictly business."

Looks like playing hardball worked out as both sides came to an agreement and the Food Network star signed a three-year contract extension. He will be filming new episodes of his competition show “Beat Bobby Flay,” along with a new project, tentatively titled “Bobby and Sophie on the Coast” — featuring his 25-year-old daughter Sophie Flay, according to a statement received by The Post.

Flay shared a comment about the newly signed agreement, saying "“Although these talks to renew took a little longer than expected, the important thing is that both sides are happy that we can now build on an already rock-solid foundation."

He also promised fans he will "take food and cooking to places we’ve never imagined before.”

Courtney White, president of Food Network and streaming food content for Discovery Inc., says she's “thrilled” to see Flay stay on the network he helped put on the map.

That won't be the only thing that is making Flay's holiday season amazing, as he was spotted last week with what appears to be his new girlfriend The U.S. Sun reported last week. Flay and Christina Perez, who is the Senior Content and Creative Director at Miss Grass, a company that sells premium THC and CBD products, made their debut at the 2021 Breeders' Cup World Championships earlier this month.

The chef made the public announcement during his speech after his horse, Pizza Bianca, took home first place and $520,000 in the Juvenile Fillies Turf.

“Winning a Breeders’ Cup Race is obviously a dream come true, but to be able to share it with your family, my daughter, my girlfriend, my business partner," said Flay. "All the people I love so much are here today to cheer me on and cheer on Pizza Bianca.”

Looks like Flay is wrapping up the year nicely and tying a bow on it.
