Despite being the daughter of some of Hollywood's most iconic stars, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, actress Jamie Lee Curtis paved her way in the industry by herself.

After getting her big break in the 1978 horror classic, "Halloween," Lee Curtis never slowed down, and the rest is indeed history. She is the recipient of two Golden Globes among many awards, and today she turned 63!

However, rather than take the spotlight, the actress used her special day to remember an important force in her life ― her mother!

Lee Curtis took to Instagram to share a carousel of throwback images featuring her mother to mark her birthday. She started the seven-slide upload with a photo of her and Leigh smiling sweetly.

The striking resemblance between the mother-daughter duo was undeniable. There were other photos of the pair holding hands, including one of late Leigh cradling Lee Curtis as a child.

In the accompanying caption, the birthday girl showered so much love on her late mother as she informed fans she went "backwards through time." Paying a heartfelt tribute to "Psycho" actress, writing:

Thanks for my LIFE Mom. For teaching me right from wrong. Law and (maybe too much) order. For teaching me to say please and thank you and to be early and stay late and to write thank you notes and to wear a bra.

The "Scream Queens" star appreciated her mother for putting on a smile even when she didn't want, and for being with her father, Tony Curtis.

Lee Curtis also thanked Leigh for teaching her how to "be in a long, loving marriage" and imbibing a life of service in her. Finally, the celebrant wished her late mother a "Happy Birth Day, before writing, "LOVE and MISSES."

The "Knives Out" Actress Gave To Charity

In a subsequent post, Lee Curtis proved that she indeed practices a life of service as taught by her mother.

She revealed in the post that her retail company, My Hand In Yours, which she started 16 months ago, was donating to charity.

The actress noted that all the money spent in the store went to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles to help critically ill children. So, for her big day, she encouraged all her fans and followers to make purchases from her company.

Fans in the comments section wished the Hollywood star a happy birthday while praising her for her philanthropic acts.

Janet Leigh Wouldn't Have Supported #MeToo

Lee Curtis's birthday tribute to her Leigh comes a month after opening up about her mother's thought of the famous #MeToo movement.

As The Blast covered, during a sit-down with fellow star Melanie Griffith, Lee Curtis discussed famous director Alfred Hitchcock's history with sexual assault.

Both Griffith and Lee Curtis' mothers worked with Hitchcock but had different experiences. While Griffith's mother, Tippi Hendren, spoke out about the director assaulting her, Leigh claimed she had only good experiences with him.

Lee Curtis shed light on why her mother didn't speak out against Hitchcock, saying, "I don't think Janet would ever have acknowledged anything, because, from her standpoint, she was just grateful."
