Actor Joey Morgan passed away early Sunday morning on November 21, 2021.
The Chicago-born actor was only 28-years-old. He received acclaim for his role in 2015’s “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse,” in which he starred alongside Sarah Dumont and Logan Miller. The film features three boy scouts putting all of their survival skills to the test as they try to save their town from a zombie outbreak on the night before their last camp-out.
As of Monday morning, no cause of death was given by the actor’s representatives.
In a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter, they said, “We hope everyone understands how painful this is for his loved ones and can respect boundaries and allow them to grieve in private.”

“Flower” co-star Zoey Deutch posted a behind-the-scenes photo of her and Morgan on set. She captioned the snap, “rest in peace joey. a deeply kind, talented, special person. we love you.” She concluded the message with a broken heart emoji.
“Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse” co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger was one of the first to comment on the post. “What?!? No. Such a hilarious bright star when I worked with him. Wow. This is awful.”
“I’m so sorry for your loss,” one fan wrote. “I’m sending my condolences and lots of love. May his memory be a blessing.”
“I just watched ‘Flower’ last weekend,” another wrote. “RIP Joey.”
“He was such a sweet guy,” said another. “This one is such a bummer.”
Another fan said they would miss the incredible talent that he brought to the screen, writing, “This movie was an absolute gem. His talent was appreciated and he was so loved, so sad to see him gone.”

The director of “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse,” Christopher Landon, also mourned Morgan’s loss on Twitter, sharing a throwback snap of the late actor posing with the rest of the cast.
“Joey Morgan came into my life nearly 9 years ago when I made ‘Scouts,’” he wrote. “He was quiet, funny, intelligent and thoughtful. And when the cameras rolled he was magnetic. He passed today and the news is heartbreaking. I am honored to have known him.”
“Gone way too soon. Such a good person,” another fan commented. “Rest In Peace Joey.”
“I’m sorry to read this!” another wrote. “This was and will always be one of my favorite experiences of ALL TIME! He gave me nothing but love. What a magical time that was. Miss and love y’all. Praying hard for our fallen hermano.”
Another added, “He was extremely funny in scouts and he will never be forgotten.”

Although Morgan may be gone, his acting talent, comedic performances, and the laughter he brought to both co-stars and fans will never be forgotten.
