It appears that NeNe Leakes and Kandi Burruss’ short-lived friendship on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ has come to an end. Now, the two stars are at odds with one another, and despite being in seemingly good standing over the last few weeks, Leakes decided to slam Burruss on social media, igniting the feud that is continuing on today. Burruss claims that Leakes “broke a vow” and that she will not be looking to rekindle her friendship with her any time soon.
Season 12 of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ has proven to be beneficial to the two’s friendship, bringing them close together for the first time since their tenures on the program began. However, they did have one public spat during an episode when Burruss attempted to calm Leakes down, causing some misdirected negative energy to be thrown at her.
“She’s right, I’m wrong. I f***ed her man and stole her baby. So goodnight, honey,” Leakes said to Burruss during the feud.
“Have a goodnight Kandi, we love you dearly darling. Keep it a thousand with your friend. Have a goodnight everyone. Thank you. I have to talk to my man, honey. I can keep my marriage together, honey,” she continued to add.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Burruss claimed that she had no idea why Leakes chose to start drama with her, saying that she is just as confused as her fans about the origin of the negative energy from her co-star.
“During the season, I pretty much got along with everybody, I didn’t have any arguments but lately it just seems like Ms. Leakes and I have been bumping heads, and I really don’t know what her problem is, you know what I’m saying? Well, now I do because I have been petty,” she told the publication.
“When I was pregnant with Ace, she and I made a little vow to be more respectful to each other and not be so negative toward each other,” she said during the interview.
“We have reverted back to the way we were prior to our oath and going into the next season, I would probably have to say for me — I don’t know how she’s feeling, but for me, I feel like I will reciprocate the energy that she gives me. So if she’s gonna come in with BS, she’s gonna get BS. If she wants to be pleasant, then I will be pleasant,” Burruss concluded her statement.
