Today hit fans like a bus when ‘Very Cavallari’ star Kristin Cavallari and former NFL star Jay Cutler announced that they are getting a divorce. This separation comes after three seasons of memorable moments on the reality show, not to mention the 10 years relationship that the couple endured.
The biggest shock of all was the fact that the announcement came after Cutler posted a light-hearted photo of a game of Go Fish! with what seems like Easter playing cards. Cryptic in a sense Cutler’s follow up posts jokes, ‘Need that #2 chocolate bunny ASAP.’
The other odd thing about the card game was the fact that it was taken from a first-person perspective when Jay Cutler’s Instagram feed is filled with photos taken candidly by Cavallari. Hours later another strange post was made.
‘With great sadness after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of,’ Cutler posted as a caption on a photo of him and his wife.
‘This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family,’ Cutler’s post continued. Kristen posted the same message on her Instagram with another photo featuring the couple.
Though they were married since 2013, they did have issues that prevented them from marrying previously. When they first engaged and 2011 Cavallari soon broke off the relationship for unknown reasons. The only clue the reality star gave is that she was concerned that their eight-month relationship was moving too fast at the time.
Us Weekly has confirmed that the couple has already moved ahead to legally end their marriage as well. Apparently, the divorce was filed on April 24, just two days before the Instagram announcement. The situation seems even harder to comprehend given the fact that Culter first proposed over Easter weekend in April 2011.
The pair and their three children were also stuck in the Bahamas for three weeks due to the COVID-19 shelter-in-place orders but returned to Nashville, Tennessee, on March 15.
Fans seem to be taking the news very hard, especially those who have followed Kristin Cavallari since she first appeared on ‘Laguna Beach’ and ‘The Hills’.
‘I hope you’re not reading these comments. It’s sad how many people are writing about how YOUR devastating and heartbroken decision is affecting them and their feelings. We are bummed because we are invested in your family’s story, but yall are real people living it,’ one fan posted in a supportive tone.
There has been not been any news on how this will affect Cavallari’s various projects and as the reality star mentioned in her post, they are asking for a period of privacy to resolve the matter.
