For one, they aren’t competitors (unless you count ‘Rise And Shine‘ as Jenner’s pop debut). There was also that time Gwen Stefani brought kiddo-Kylie onstage and let her sing during ‘Hollaback Girl’ – so maybe the whole music thing was a bad example.
On the real, though – Spears and Jenner definitely don’t run in the same circles. However, they’re being grouped together this week as the Twitterverse continues to dialog about what they’re referring to as a “disgusting and biased” double standard.
On Saturday, a creative designer named Arturo shared a side-by-side pic of two TMZ articles. On the left, a photo of Britney Spears – sans socks and shoes, entering her vehicle – with this headline: “Britney Spears Leaves Court Barefoot…Judge Orders Expert Evaluation.”
“Kylie Jenner,“ it began.
“Water & Chips For Quarantine…IT’S ALL THE BARE(FOOT) NECESSITIES!!!“ Its attached photo was exactly as described: An all-smiles Jenner, hopping in her beige Mercedes G5 – feet on the street, Lays in hand.

The tweet’s author Arturo put it like this: “Kylie goes barefoot, she’s ‘like the rest of us.’ Britney Spears does it, she needs an expert’s evaluation.” With a descriptive eye-roll emoji, he hashtagged the two leading ladies – needless to say, it sparked an interesting debate.
“This is such a joke,” one person said. “Britney had been in court in heels who doesn’t want to kick heels off immediately. Kylie is walking barefoot In the middle of a viral pandemic!!! She needs the mental evaluation!! I love them both but Kylie seriously wtf are you doing???!!”
After another alleged that “TMZ hate[s] women,” someone said “this just shows how disgusting & biased the media is.”
“Correct me if I’m wrong,” a third added, ” but doesn’t Kylie/Kardashians pay the media/tabloids and Britney doesn’t? If so, this is disgusting.”
“I’d sooner walk barefoot in my friend’s driveways than public places like gas stations and court houses,” one fan wrote, coming to the rescue of Jenner.
And then, a rather faceless account came forward with the opinion that everyone else was missing the entire point.
“Obviously the expert evaluation isn’t about her walking barefoot,” they tweeted Friday. “Are you that dumb?”
All jokes aside (to hit this ^^^): The TMZ write-up on Spears came at the dawn of the fan-driven #FreeBritney movement to end her 12-year-long conservatorship. Its photo gallery shows protestors standing outside an LA courthouse with their homemade signs – ones they probably wish were made for a concert.
