He dropped his fifth studio album “Changes” just two months ago, but it looks as if Justin Bieber is already working on his follow-up to his recent offering.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, given that he’s forced to stay in his home following the lockdown order last month, the Canadian hitmaker is utilizing the time to work on some new music material.
Bieber confirmed the news by taking to his Instagram Story, gushing to his 132 million followers that he’s happy with what he’s been able to record so far.
‘My new album is sounding crazy good,’ he wrote.
Fans were quick to speculate whether this meant the 26-year-old was moving on from the “Changes” album entirely, which would make sense given the recent announcement that all touring dates in support of the record had been postponed.
The tour, which was poised to commence in Seattle, Washington, next month was put on hold amid the global crisis.
‘So does this mean Justin will do what Ariana did and drop another album and tour with two records instead?’ one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another echoed similar words, saying: ‘Love Justin’s new album Changes, probably should’ve given it more time before teasing a new record. But he’ll most likely end up touring with both albums. Just an assumption.’
In an official statement posted on Bieber’s Instagram on April 3, the “I’ll Show You” chart-topper’s team confirmed that the Changes tour had been postponed until further notice.
‘In light of the current public health crisis, and with the deepest concern for all those being affected, Justin Bieber will be postponing all currently scheduled 2020 dates for the Changes Tour.’
‘While Justin – along with his band, dancers and crew – has been hard at work preparing an amazing show, he has always put the health and well-being of his fans first and foremost. Justin is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to get back out on the road and perform in a space that is safe for everyone.’
Since the coronavirus outbreak, Bieber has been isolating with his wife Hailey Baldwin, who have entertained their fans with Instagram Live sessions and TikTok dance challenges.
“Changes” shot straight to number one on the Billboard Hot 200 following its release on Valentine’s Day and spawning the hit single “Yummy,” “Intentions,” and “Forever.”
And while Bieber appears to be working on new music, in recent weeks, he’s been uploading ‘nature visual’ videos of several songs lifted from “Changes,” including visuals for the songs “Habitual” and “E.T.A.”
Bieber and Baldwin tied the knot in September 2018. They held a beautiful ceremony exactly one year later, with a star-studded guest list which included Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Jaden Smith, and Scooter Braun.
