Emily Ratajkowski is under fire. The 28-year-old supermodel and Inamorata founder has kept promo for her popular swim and lingerie line up amid COVID-19 – EmRata has appeared both on her own social media, followed by a 26-million-strong army, alongside continuing to pop up on the Inamorata feed.
Telling Instagram why “being in a bikini is better” was the message via the London, U.K-born star on her own stories today. Over on the Inamorata account, a photo of the brunette posing topless in nothing but bikini bottoms generated a wave of complaints.
The snap formed part of a string of images – Emily posing topless had also seen her shot from the front and back, plus with a lemon. Seen flaunting her jaw-dropping body in nothing but an animal-print pair of bikini bottoms, EmRata showcased her super-peachy rear in the thong briefs, also delivering a sultry gaze from under a hat as she posed by a floor-to-ceiling window.
“Inside with Inamorata” was the caption, but the fan response proved more focused on a detail in the image over the accompanying words.
Remarks were multiple.
“What happened to the rib :(” one fan wrote.
“What happened to ur rib???” another said.
“And the rib?? Are her photos all fake??” was another comment.
“Um, what’s wrong with this” was another response, with one user simply writing: “LMFAO at the rib.”
Plenty of positive feedback was left – Ratajkowski was called “gorgeous” – but comments pertaining to what appeared to be a bizarre reflection of a human rib were the overarching theme.
Then again, users suggesting that the image had been edited found themselves answered to.
The opinion wasn’t one-way.
“The ribs are NORMAL I have the same ribs as her so yea that’s why we never really take photos in that way people point it out but her she strong and brave for that bc encaved ribs is also what I have and I can’t even show off,” one user replied.
Photoshop fail accusations have been plentiful with Emily. October 2019 saw fans spotting a potential editing scenario with the model’s arm, with January of this year seeing a snap of her dubbed “poorly” Photoshopped.
Emily has addressed the so-called Instagrammable perfection that now proves a standard on celebrity social media. Speaking to Byrdie, she said:
“What I always say to people is [my Instagram] is a curated version of a character. It’s not my real life. Hopefully, young people understand that. I really try to bring that home a little bit because it’s like, I’m basically making my own magazine so to speak.”
“I’m curating this world. You’re definitely not seeing me when I woke up this morning with a fever, sweaty, with my mascara underneath my eyes. No, I’m not posting that,” she added.
Elsewhere, EmRata has made headlines as a G-string-clad video of herself brushing her teeth went viral.
