The world is absolutely shocked and torn over the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict.
On Friday, November 19, Rittenhouse was found NOT GUILTY on all five charges brought against him for his involvement in the Kenosha Protest shooting.
On August 25, a then 17-year-old Rittenhouse had his mother drive him over state lines from Illinois to Wisconsin so he could participate in the protest for Jacob Blake.

Blake was shot in the back by a police officer on August 23, 2020 while he was walking back to his three children in his car. He was left paralyzed from the waist down as a result of his injuries.
Rittenhouse came to the protest armed with an AR-15-style rifle and medical kit.
He fatally shot two people and injured another.
On November 19, a Kenosha, WI jury acquitted the now 18-year-old of first-degree reckless homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon, first-degree intentional homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon (Wisconsin’s murder count), attempted first-degree intentional homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon, and two counts of recklessly endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon.
This is not the American way.

Twitter absolutely erupted once the verdict came out and ‘AR-15,’ ‘OJ Simpson,’ ‘White Supremacy,’ ‘White Privilege,’ ‘Not Surprised,’ ‘Sickening,’ and ‘The Purge’ began trending.
One person tweeted, “Ah. We live in The Purge.”
Another wrote, “And so begins the purge…”
People warn The Purge will begin in wake of Rittenhouse verdict
“In case you were wondering, it’s absolutely OKAY to drive across state lines with a firearm and kill people. If the the justice system holds everyone to this standard now, we are going to be living in the purge,” another Twitter user warned.

For the ‘AR-15’ trend many said the verdict tells people it’s okay to carry around an assault rifle and do what they feel just to protesters.
“The scariest thing about the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict is the message it sends. Now every a**hole with an AR-15 is going to think mowing down protesters is A-OK,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote, “Kyle Rittenhouse makes me think about Trayvon Martin and how a 17 year old unarmed Black victim gets thuggified while a 17 year old white murderer with an AR-15 is valorized. The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is a master class in white privilege at every level.”

Many wondered what the outcome would’ve been if it was a Black person in the same situation.
Many compared Rittenhouse’s NOT GUILTY verdict to OJ Simpson’s NOT GUILTY verdict in the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
“Kyle Rittenhouse now joins the ranks of OJ Simpson, George Zimmerman, and Casey Anthony. Not a proud club to be in,” one user tweeted.

One enraged Twitter user suggested the families of the victims seek revenge like the families of Nicole & Goldman’s did.
“Now there should be Civil Suits filed by the families of the loved ones he shot and killed. Just like in the OJ Simpson trial. Never give up! Make his life a living hell,” one tweet read.
