Diddy and Jennifer Lopez have a history that spans back to the Y2K era that brought us the JLo singles ‘If You Had My Love’, ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing’, ‘I’m Real’, and ‘Waiting for Tonight’. Some may argue that this was not the best era of Lopez, but the charts tell the true story.
During that time, from 1999 to 2001, Lopez was arm and arm with her super-producer ex-boyfriend Diddy, government name Sean Combs, who together produced five songs.
Over the twenty years since their breakup, fans have gone crazy over possible Diddy and JLo sightings and reunion. While their every tweet and comment is under scrutiny, it hasn’t kept the former couple from exchanging words and pleasantries.
Even now, with Alex Rodriquez taking his stance as Lopez’s family man, Diddy and the ‘Jenny From The Block’ singer seem to be just as cordial. We even had a chance to see the couple, now friends, reminisce during a recent Instagram Live.
It happened during a Diddy hosted Instagram Live Dance-A-Thon in which he invited many celebrity acquaintances from Lizzo to Kylie Jenner, to his former love Jennifer Lopez.
After Lopez joined the event, the two started to really get into Elvis Crespo’s ‘Suavemente.’ They almost broke the internet while Diddy danced and JLo joked about how she ‘probably taught’ the dance style to Diddy.
Soon after the comment, the singer’s fiancée Alex Rodriguez pulled a common ‘boyfriend blocking’ move, making his presence known while dancing and pointing to the camera.
I always laugh when I see someone say “my heart is so full” … but after seeing Diddy and Jennifer Lopez together again, I get it ❤️ pic.twitter.com/vDlt2qm5VT

With Rodriguez back in frame Lopez didn’t fail to mention, ‘I don’t think you know this — this guy right here is your biggest fan from the Bad Boy era.’
The three continued to dance and sources have confirmed that Rodriguez is just fine with the interactions between Lopez and Diddy. However, there have been a few situations that he wasn’t too particularly okay with in the past; like the flirty comment Diddy made on Lopez’s ’10-Day Challenge’ Instagram post in 2019.
As innocent as the interaction was, fans were in an uproar with likes and comments. Good thing Rodriguez kept it cool because Diddy was able to raise $3.5 million during the session, featuring additional appearances from Drake and LeBron James.
According to a HollywoodLife source, Diddy and JLo are good friends who have ‘bonded over being parents and have always been in touch to talk business and life,’ The source also added in that, ‘There is a mutual respect for each other and they really like each other as people. Just because it didn’t work out romantically for them all those years ago, doesn’t thwart them from being friends.’
