Joanna Gaines Gushes About Adorable Relationship With Her Sister

"It's All About Family," as Vin Diesel would say!
Sibling relationships are one of the most beautiful types of love to exist.
The metaphorical hate-to-love relationships, from the in-house fights to having each other's backs outside. The 'no-one messes with them but you' attitude, and so on. All these contribute to making having a sibling worthwhile.
It's beautiful to know that aside from oneself, almost always, a sibling would be there when needed the most.
The bond by blood and parents is only a foundation to a blissful sibling friendship, and for Joanna Gaines, her bond with her sister, Mary Kay McCall, whom she calls Mikey, is what she wouldn't trade for the world.
Keep scrolling to see how she gushes over their relationship.
Gaines' Sister Helps Her Out Of Her Comfort Zone
Gaines seemed to be the one to always play it safe and not take risks. For example, she always longed to get a nose ring but was too terrified to go through with it.
She wanted a nose ring because Mikey had one and seemed to like it. Although she summoned the confidence to get it, she remained hesitant. However, when she sought her sister's opinion, Mikey pushed her to get it, especially since Gaines fancied it.

"Getting a nose ring was completely out of my comfort zone, but my younger sister, Mikey, has always been the polar opposite. She has a beautiful ability to be spontaneous and lives by the wild and free aspects of her nature." Gaines stated.
They were out the door and ready to make the nose ring a reality. Mikey jumped up and said, "What are you waiting for? Let's go!" and before she could say anything, Mikey ensured she got it.
Gaines Husband Is The Risk Taker
Gaines is aware of her strengths and weaknesses. As a result, she prefers to leave risk-taking activities to her husband, Chip Gaines. In the 2020 issue of Magnolia Journal, she said that her husband taught her to let go gradually using the "slow yes" method.
"Not all changes will make a large impact; some will be created in patience, steadiness, and unhurriedness," the "Fix Upper" star wrote. She emphasized that she and her partner already saw how beautiful it'd be to let something grow on her.

Plus, how much better it was than forming a hasty judgment or an unyielding conclusion at first glance. Chip referred to it as her "slow yes," and she learned to rely on it above all else in work and home concerns.
She added that the method helped her not make decisions out of fear but believe in its process. It also helped her trust her gut without being a victim of a crazy decision. Who knows, maybe therapists might find it useful as well.
Mikey Opened A New Store With Her Support
Mikey founded Ferny's, a plant business in Waco, Texas, in early 2021. She described it as a vintage plant store. In June, she set up a pop-up shop in the Magnolia Market, and Gaines jumped at the chance to pitch in and help set things up.
Mikey revealed that her big sister assisted her in cleaning and cooking a couple of meals for her family. She expressed her gratitude for this via Instagram.

"Sweet Joey is MAGICAL and the very BEST," she gushed. She also noted that her sister stayed at her house almost throughout the launch to support her and keep things sane.
Her biggest shock was when Gaines helped her clean up her messy place, organized her workspace, and laced everywhere with positive notes. Big sisters are really like mothers, right?!
Gaines And Mikey's Relationship Has Only Waxed Stronger
Like many siblings, Gaines used to think of her younger sister as an "extra" when they were kids, but now that they're adults, she values her more.
When they started working together in their father's shop, they began to get much closer. They worked hard, and though they were occupied around the shop, they also took time to enjoy a snack, "goof around," and even prank phone neighboring businesses.
They got close to the point where they not only saw each other as sisters but as best friends.
Gaines claimed that having her sister in her life provides her with "a soft place to land" when things get tough. She now describes her relationship with her sister as one in which she can "enjoy."
Now, with her sister's new store and she and her husband's booming show "Fix Upper," it's safe to say it can only get better.
