Over three decades ago, J.K Rowling received an iconic thought when he rode the train from Manchester to London. Thankfully, she did not kill the idea but sat down and let it become fruitful in her mind.

Today, that idea has resulted in the multibillion "Harry Potter" franchise. It includes seven books, feature films, and numerous merchandise.

Many years have passed since the first film adaptation hit the cinema. Soon enough, the movie series will mark its 20th anniversary of thrilling generations across the globe.

In the spirit of celebration, the franchise has plans to reconnect the cast of the film. Fans are overly ecstatic about the upcoming reunion and can't seem to keep calm about seeing their favorites together again.

When Is The Reunion Airing?

The first movie of the franchise debuted in late 2001 amid critical acclaim. Fans were already familiar with "Harry Potter" as a best-seller, and they were about to experience it as a film adaptation.

In barely a few weeks after its premiere, the first installment broke numerous records at that time. It increased the certainty that other movies based on the books would be released and would do exploit. Subsequent installments dropped at auspicious times over a decade. Together they smashed box office records, and as of today, the entire franchise has an estimated worth of over $25 billion.

Since the release of the last installment entitled "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," there have been very few sightings of the crew together. Even at that, those sightings never included all the cast, but only a few at a time.

Over time fans of the franchise have clamored for a reunion to see their favorites get back together. Well, their wish was granted, and they can expect to celebrate with the iconic cast on the D-day of the reunion, January 1, 2022.

Where Can Fans Watch The Reunion?

On November 16, 2021, popular streamer HBO, dropped some tidbits about the upcoming reunion.

The statement read in part; "For the first time, the legendary cast returns to where the magic started. Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: #ReturnToHogwarts, streaming New Year's Day, only on HBO Max. International release coming soon."

The announcement implied that the reunion could be streamed live, exclusively on the network platform. Before the reunion, fans can also feel nostalgic about the good old days by going over the film series.

The collection includes the "Philosopher's Stone," Chamber of Secrets," "Prisoner of Azkaban," "Goblet of Fire," "Order of the Phoenix," "Half-Blood Prince," "Deathly Hallows – Part 1," and "Deathly Hallows – Part 2."

Those who do not have access to HBO Max can catch the show on Cartoon Network and TBS at a different release time.

Daniel Radcliffe Once Stated He Fancies A Reunion

Fans know Daniel Radcliffe, who joined the show to play the orphaned wizard Harry Porter, the arch-enemy of the series antagonist Voldermort.

Since the last installment, Radcliffe has moved on to star in other acting roles away from the spotlight of his "Harry Potter" performance. His recent body of works includes "Now You See Me 2," "Jungle," "Beast of Burden," "Gun Akimbo," "Escape From Pretoria," and many more.

The actor's career is slowly gaining fame for roles not associated with the acclaimed franchise, and it was almost as if he had forgotten he was the most sought-after lad of the paranormal world.

However, in 2020, the star admitted he fancies a reunion if it should happen. "You know, I won't rule it out," Radcliffe told PopBuzz. "Some fate will conspire to make it happen." Fortunately, the heavens heard his words, and the stars aligned. Now, super fans of the franchise only need to wait a few more weeks to see their favorites reunite.

Who Is Attending The Reunion?

Now that "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" is confirmed, the executive producer shared some insights into what fans can expect when the reunion finally airs.

"There's magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago," Patterson wrote.

"The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a special and personal journey through the making of these incredible films," he added.

The reunion will bring back the main protagonists of the show; Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. Other notable appearance includes Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Jason Isaacs, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, Oliver Phelps, James Phelps, Mark Williams, Alfred Enoch, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, and Ian Hart.

After the announcement, fans took to social media to gush over it. For sure, Potterhead's are die-hard fans.
