Thylane Blondeau knocked the camera dead on Tuesday – without a designer wardrobe or professional photography team. The “World’s Most Beautiful Girl” – first spotted by French designer Jean Paul Gaultier when she was a child – has been making a name for herself beyond her native France, with a rising Instagram following reflecting her popularity.
Thylane is currently in quarantine on account of the COVID-19 pandemic. Having turned 19 earlier this month, and celebrated at home, the model appears to be living life as best she can while social distancing. She’s also been keeping busy.
Thylane’s photo couldn’t have been more low-frills. It showed the Aix-en-Provence native in selfie mode and in her bathroom as she posed on a black marble sink and backed by a rainfall shower and her belongings. The brunette was wearing a white face mask, also seen with her hair soaking wet and scraped back – enough of Blondeau’s face was on show to deliver her beauty, though.
Thylane also showed hints of her model body as she wore a blue-and-white onesie in fuzzy fabrics, with an off-the-shoulder flashing a little skin. No caption was offered.
Racking up over 37,000 likes in an hour, the update appeared popular from the get-go. Fans loved the look, but they mostly expressed their love for the model, also wishing her all the best amid the pandemic.
“That’s a great photo and I wish you a nice evening, dear Thylane.???,” one fan wrote.
“Ptit chat” was another comment – the French translates to “little cat.”
“Beautiful,” another wrote, with one user calling Thylane “iconic.”
Thylane recently confirmed just why she’s so famous by posting the childhood photo that first saw her rise to fame.
Thylane comes both shy and modest. The Cacharel face refused to acknowledge her “most beautiful” status in an interview with L’Officiel.
“Firstly: I do not consider myself the most beautiful girl in the world! When I was little, people always told me. But I did not even understand what they meant. Because who says that? Who says I am the most beautiful?” she said, with Unilad translating her feature.
Thylane was spotted at the age of 4, beginning her runway career as a child. She has stated her style idols to be supermodel sister duo Bella and Gigi Hadid.
When asked if she had any hidden talents as she spoke to Frivolette, Thylane replied:
“To be honest, I do not like to talk about myself. It’s funny, is not it? But I play the piano, guitar and drums. And I’m singing. But I’m terribly embarrassed about everything I do.”
Thylane made headlines this year for being invited to the Miu Miu fashion show in Paris. The model’s own resume includes walking for brands including Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana. She was named Cosmopolitan’s 2019 “Model of the Year.”
