Lala Kent should be starting to prepare to walk down the aisle in Newport Beach, California with her fiancé, movie producer Randall Emmett, but unfortunately for the Vanderpump Rules cast member, her big day has been canceled due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19.
After confirming her and Emmett’s wedding has been postponed to a date in late July days ago, Kent took to her Instagram page on Monday, April 13, and opened up about the emotions she’s facing as her would-be wedding date approaches.
“Today would be the day I’d be heading to our wedding location to start prepping and getting settled in with my mama and mama-in-law to-be,” Kent wrote in her post. “I know people have been affected by this in much bigger ways. I do feel sad today, though.”
Kent and Emmett are, of course, just one of many couples around the world who have been forced to postpone their plans to wed due to the ongoing spreading of the deadly virus.
According to Kent, she’s been experiencing heartbreak due to the many pre-wedding events she has been forced to cancel, including her bachelorette party and her bridal shower.
“I haven’t experiences anything that I should have. Bachelorette party, bridal shower. It’s just all very weird,” she explained.
While Kent then said that she is looking forward to her July wedding date, she also noted that her heart had been set on April 18 for a while.
“I know I’ll get to, but my heart was set on April 18th,” she shared.
As she prepares for the ongoing hardships she will continue to face as her wedding week continues, Kent told her online audience members that she’s hoping this Saturday, which would have been the day she walked down the aisle, sees rain.
“I hope it rains that day. Then I’ll be saying, ‘Thank god we didn’t get married today.’ That would make me feel better,” she admitted.
Kent and Emmett announced their April 18 wedding date last year after getting engaged in September 2018.
Earlier this year, Emmett appeared on Teddi Mellencamp’s podcast, where he opened up about co-parenting his daughters, London and Rylee, with Kent and his ex-wife, Ambyr Childers.
“Coparenting obviously is the most important thing when you have children and they’re a product of a divorce,” he explained, via Us Weekly. “[And] Lala Kent, God bless her soul, has taken on that role of stepmother with a vigor and passion and with love.”
