Selena Gomez clocked herself over 4.4 million likes in four hours on Monday, taking to Instagram with a sensational, stunning photoshoot that upped the 27-year-old singer’s sex appeal – the accompanying Interview Mag feature did, however, show a vulnerable side to the “Rare” singer as she revealed a life that once “spun out of control.”
While opening up to comedian Amy Schumer saw the Texas-born star divulge people “taking away her narrative” and subsequently “killing” her inside, the images accompanying the profile exuded nothing but confidence and fierce beauty.
Photos landed on Selena’s Instagram earlier today, also proving more varied over on Interview Mag’s account. They showed the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star delivering her gym-honed and glistening body in a mix of edgy athleisurewear and swim attire – a black boots look of Selena rocking a muscle-flaunting tank was accompanied by a bathing suit photo of the PUMA partner shot against sunset skies. A snap with racier body language also saw the ex to Justin Bieber posing with her legs spread and a hand between them – scroll down for the shot.
Braided hair and bronzed features accentuated Gomez’s stunning facial features. Meanwhile, a caption also mentioned the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I was so excited to share my shoot with @interviewmag and my conversation with @amyschumer prior to this horrible pandemic. Since it’s coming out today, I just want to remind everyone to please stay safe at home. ? thank you to every person involved!! #interviewmag,” Selena captioned her post.
Meanwhile, snippets of Selena’s interview made global headlines.
“My intention was never to become a tabloid, so when things kind of happened that way, it got out of control,” she stated, interpreted to be referring to her 8-year relationship with “Yummy” singer Justin Bieber.
“I had to start opening up because people were taking away my narrative and it was killing me. I’m so young and I’m going to keep changing, and no one has the right to tell me how my life’s going,” she continued.
The Lupus sufferer and successful kidney transplant recipient also said that “it got out of control when I was super young” – Selena shot to fame in her youth, appearing on the Disney Channel.
Selena, whose status as the most-followed woman on Instagram is now only surpassed by 26-year-old singer Ariana Grande, told Miley:
“Recently, I went to one of the best mental hospitals in America, McLean Hospital, and I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things, I realized that I was bipolar.”
“There are moments where I just have to center myself and let the thoughts come in. Sometimes I’ll write them down, and then completely just sit with, ‘What is it? What is the root of this? Why can I get to the bottom of this?’ And it really helps me,” she added.
