Kelly Ripa 100% knows how to get an Instagram reaction. The 49-year-old talk show queen made headlines in September 2019 for appearing in a very bread-centric and pantless image as she lay surrounded by a sea of loaves – with COVID-19 seeing the “Live!” With Kelly and Ryan” host social distancing, both her own social media and the series’ one has been resorting to throwbacks.
This throwback (seen below) definitely got noticed. Shared by “Live!” for its Monday update, the post showed the blonde delivering her signature, off-kilter edge. It also came with a quarantine tweak.
A direct replica of the 2019 image, the snap showed Kelly striking a pose as she lay on her back and in a red strappy top. The New Yorker was fully surrounded and also submerged by the world’s most-varied array of breads and baked goods – the bakery selection featured poppy-seed loaves, giant pretzels, Challah bread, and French baguette sticks, with Kelly popping against them as she rocked a red lip to match her clothing.
Kelly had originally shouted out Live Bread Club back in 2019. This image came captioned from the series:
“No actual bread was harmed) #Bread #Quarantine #baking #krmeme.”
Despite the post featuring on the “Live!” account, where 1.6 million followers fall short of the 2.7 million following Kelly’s own account, engagement was high. In fact, fans seemed fully on-board.
“Haha, I love this,” one wrote.
“That’s me with all the bread I’ve eaten during quarantine ???,” another said.
“Wow Kelly is multitalented and Mark is a lucky guy ?,” a third added, with “Bread Porn” also documented as a reply.
Given the number of users responding with cry-face emoji, the update appeared to have brought a few tears – the good kind. “???,” one user wrote.
Kelly made headlines over the Easter weekend for wishing fans a Happy Easter and sharing stunning rare family photos that included all three children, plus 48-year-old husband Mark Consuelos. The “Riverdale” star is, together with Kelly, a parent to sons Joaquin and Anthony, plus 18-year-old daughter Lola Grace.
A photo-heavy batch of Easter throwbacks showing the Ripa-Consuelos clan proved popular as Kelly wrote:
“Happy Easter with love from the Consuelos family to yours. Here’s some of my favorite Easter memories. (Or at least what is stored on this phone) ?????????”
Kelly and co-star Ryan Seacrest’s popular series now airs as a virtual deal as the two stay home. A recent episode of “Live!” saw Kelly confess that she isn’t actually speaking to two out of her three children amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m not going to lie, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I’m currently not speaking to two of my three kids,” she said.
“I’m not talking to two of them. Just because, we’re all in the same boat together. I haven’t gotten to hug my parents. I want to hug my parents. I miss hugging my parents,” Kelly added, continuing:
“I feel so bad for my son, Michael, who was supposed to graduate in a couple of weeks.”
