J. Lo, who announced her engagement to the former baseball champ in 2018, had initially planned to get married this year, but given the current global uncertainty regarding the health crisis, the couple has rethought their plans of tying the knot in 2020.
Lopez made the revelation during her appearance on the at-home edition of “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” where she gushed on all things concerning the coronavirus and what her experience has been with the rapid lifestyle adjustments.
Speaking about her initial wedding plans, she said: ’Actually, it did affect it a little bit, so we will see what happens now. Honestly, I really don’t know what’s going to happen now, as far as dates or anything like that.’
‘We’re just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. It’s something that we’ll have to wait and see in a few months, how this all pan out.’
Her wedding plans weren’t the only thing affected in Lopez’s life as the coronavirus outbreak emerged; her forthcoming movie “Marry Me,” starring Owen Wilson, could very well be affected by the pandemic, too.
Still, the mother-of-two is remaining positive that things will gradually get better, adding that she hopes the world will soon be able to heal from the devastation that the coronavirus has caused.
Degeneres was also curious to know about how parenting their kids has been for the doting duo since they were ordered to remain in lockdown until further notice.
And while Rodriguez has two daughters: Natasha, 15, and Ella 11, Lopez shares her twins Emme and Maximilian, both 12, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
‘I help with the homework,’ the 50-year-old “Hustlers” actress gleefully admitted from her multi-million dollar property in Miami. ‘Honestly, I think we’re all looking at it like, what is this?
‘Like I’m a teacher?! And so, you know, half the time I’m like, ok, yeah. Let’s look up that word. What does that mean.’
Following her exhilarating performance at the Super Bowl halftime show in February, it said revealed that Lopez had plans to start work on her eighth studio album – her first body of work since 2014’s “AKA.”
But, again, given current circumstances, it’s unclear whether she will still move ahead with plans to drop a new album, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad idea given that most people are occupying themselves in quarantine with the help of music.
Lopez and Rodriguez have been together since March 2017. In April of that year, the former athlete had told Ellen Degeneres: ‘He texted me, said, ‘Let’s go out to dinner,’ and I said, ‘OK.’ We had a nice dinner.’
