Kelsea Ballerini is back at it – delivering off-kilter and amusing Instagram updates, that is. The 26-year-old country singer isn’t far off half a million views for her Thursday video, with the “homecoming queen?” songstress’ post centering solidly around humor and home.
Delivering chips, dip, impressive upper body strength and the Tennessee native’s signature sense of fun, this video also proved a reminder that celebrities, too, are finding the home time to involve some boredom. For Kelsea, yesterday was all about consuming the calories as she burned them off.
Kelsea’s video (seen below) showed her solo and in her kitchen. The blonde was down on her knees as she rocked loose, leopard-print pants with a skimpy and tight black top. Very much about the activities over the wardrobe, this footage was showing a novel way to consume one of America’s favorite snacks.
Push-ups with a chip in the mouth seemed to be it. Kelsea was seen performing a rep to dip her mouth-held chip into a jar of Lay’s Ranch Dip, eventually reaching to the bag for another bite. Boredom appeared written all over Ballerini’s face as she wrote:
“Today in quarantine.”
Kelsea’s video brought in a major response from her 2.1 million followers, also raking in some famous faces. For 31-year-old country singer and reality star Jessie James Decker, the vibe was a familiar one.
“This is me with wine. For some reason on my second glass of wine I start doing lunges in my living room between sips,” she wrote.
Over 480 users liked the comment, with the next celeb reply coming from Miley Cyrus’ older sister Brandi – Hahahahaha,” she wrote.
A like also came in from 45-year-old comedian Chelsea Handler.
As The Blast has documented, Kelsea’s quarantine updates – particularly those reaching out to fans with words – have proven well-received. Less-so, though, was a post of the star in a post-shower bathrobe. It followed a video of Kelsea rolling around in bed and snacking on cookie dough as she asked Amazon Alexa to play her music.
“Can I be honest with you, this post of yours is freaking. I feel like since day one of this outbreak you’ve only posted videos dancing around with your face covered up which felt like you were mocking the state of the world, posting videos doing goofy things around the house which again felt like you were laughing at the situation,” a fan had written.
Kelsea did not ignore the comment, responding:
“I totally hear and respect this. I guess I just look at my job in all of this to spread some giggles and music in it all. The heaviness, absolute real weight of information, and devastating stories are everywhere.”
Kelsea added: “I read them and feel helpless and heartbroken. Promise I’m informed. Promise I’m sad, so so sad. Promise I’m staying TF home and trying to spread the importance of that. just trying to find my own sense of mental health in this all, and share some light along the way. Hope you’re well.”
Meanwhile, her March-released “kelsea” album has been dubbed an “ideal” companion for social distancing by Rolling Stone.
