Tom Holland gets candid about his height!
The 25-year-old "Uncharted" actor, whose height is 5'8, admitted in a recent interview that he would use certain tricks to look taller in person, such as wearing lifts in his shoes and standing close to the camera.
Cool Trick
"I'd do this thing on red carpets where I would stand closer to the photographers than the people behind me," Holland told GQ.
After many years under the spotlight, he didn't feel so insecure with his height anymore as he shifted his attention and energy to things he could control.
"I cannot do anything about my height," Holland stated, adding that he "can put on more muscle" instead.
Getting Stronger
Holland has been in the Spider-Man universe since 2016, where he joined "Captain America: Civil War." For his superhero debut, he used to wear a muscle suit, but after six movies, he didn't need it anymore. The actor has packed on more muscles ever since that the suit appeared smaller and smaller on him.
“Now I just have a penis cup,” he said.
Stressful Days
Holland also revealed that his rigorous action scenes in the film caused some wear and tear on his body.
“I was going to the gym in the morning like, ‘Oh, my God, I’ve must have torn something in my leg,’ and the guys were like, ‘You haven’t, you’re just tired and you’re getting older,'" he recalled.
During the chat, Holland has also hinted at leaving his breakout role as he felt that he has already given "everything" to it. He felt the burnout, traveling to 17 countries while also doing all the stunts on request.
“I was really ill,” the "Cherry" star said. “But I didn’t say no. I was like, ‘I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.’”
Until one day, his body reacted to all the stress. During a press conference in China, Holland exited the stage and threw up.
“I was under a lot of pressure to finish the day’s work. That was the first time I was really like, ‘No, I’m done now. I’ve given you everything,'" he explained.
Leaving The Franchise?
Holland added that it's maybe "time for me to move on. Maybe what’s best for Spider-Man is that they do a Miles Morales film. I have to take Peter Parker into account as well, because he is an important part of my life," adding that if he's still "playing Spider-Man after I’m 30, I’ve done something wrong.”
After playing Spider-Man for six years, Hollan realized her has other ambitions.
“He talks about being James Bond a lot,” his costar, Jacob Batalon, said. “A lot a lot.”
Holland has also delved into scriptwriting. According to the magazine, he penned a script with his brother, Harry.
“I definitely don’t think I want to be an actor for the rest of my life," Holland stated.
Before fame, Holland did what he loved when he trained briefly as a carpenter.
“I’ve always been really good with my hands. If something’s broken, I can always figure out a way of fixing it," he said.
