Kelsea Ballerini‘s message was as simple as her photo today. The 26-year-old country singer took to Instagram to remind her 2.1 million followers that amid a global pandemic now having claimed over 88,000 lives worldwide, the lifestyle seeing millions lead new lives from home can both be hard and –as Kelsea wrote ‒ “ok.”
Kelsea has gained 100,000 Instagram followers since her appearance on the ACM “Our Country” Special – the televised weekend concert also featured superstar faces including Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, plus Shania Twain.
With nothing but a little vintage filter added, Kelsea’s photo showed her in selfie mode and shooting the camera a direct gaze and soft smile. The “homecoming queen?” singer appeared in a black, v-neck tank top and seemingly outdoors as her blonde hair swept around in the wind from under a baseball cap. The no-frills shot showed off the Tennessee native’s natural beauty, but the update was about the caption.
“For whoever needs to hear this,” Kelsea began.
“Whatever you’re feeling is ok.
if you find this time to be a blank canvas to reset and rediscover your priorities and even yourself. that’s ok.
if you find this time to be triggering. of anxiety, of fearing the unknown, of pain, of loss. that’s ok,” she continued.
Kelsea’s caption continued to outline the various quarantine situations that many are now likely familiar with. The singer listed being “in the same pajamas for several days straight” alongside stating that there is “no guide.”
“Unchartered, uneasy, unsettled,” the star called these times, then stressing that what matters is “staying safe.”
“Call your mom. hug your dog. learn to cook. dance around your living room. or don’t. it’s ok. ?,” she concluded.
Raking in over 24,000 likes in under 60 minutes, the update appeared to very much resonate with viewers.
Replies came in fast.
“Beautiful,” one user wrote.
“Thank you for this. I appreciate the heck out of you. I hope you’re taking this time for yourself, too. Love you lots ?,” another said.
COVID-19 has seen Kelsea make headlines for her approach to the pandemic – not always positively, though. While a snap of the blonde sunbathing on the roof of her Jeep to state that getting outdoors – if you can –does wonders, a comment documented by The Blast saw the star slammed for appearing not to take the situation seriously.
March 27 saw Kelsea post a video (seen below) of herself rolling around in bed and snacking on cookie dough as she asked Amazon Alexa to play her music – the star’s third “Kelsea” album has already been dubbed an “ideal quarantine companion” by Rolling Stone. The video currently sits at over 480,000 views.
Following it, a shot of Kelsea with wet hair as she spread good will came slammed.
“Can I be honest with you, this post of yours is freaking. I feel like since day one of this outbreak you’ve only posted videos dancing around with your face covered up which felt like you were mocking the state of the world, posting videos doing goofy things around the house which again felt like you were laughing at the situation,” the fan wrote.
Kelsea responded: “I totally hear and respect this. I guess I just look at my job in all of this to spread some giggles and music in it all.”
