Last night’s episode of “The Masked Singer” eliminated two contestants as it approached the season 6 finale, which will take place after next week’s Thanksgiving break.
The first contestant to be unmasked was the Mallard. Although none of the judges were able to guess his identity, fans had their fingers crossed that the judges would have better luck when it came to the Caterpillar after he was chosen as the second elimination of the night.
Judge Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg had already hit the “Take It Off” buzzer for the Caterpillar earlier in the episode, absolutely convinced that the celebrity hiding underneath the costume was Taylor Swift’s ex, Jake Gyllenhaal, who has been “mortified” to find himself the subject of some savage Twitter tweets after “Red (Taylor’s Version)” dropped last Friday.
Her guess was not correct, so when it came time for elimination, she switched gears completely and decided to venture a guess of Owen Wilson.
None of the judges had any better luck. Robin Thicke went with AJ McLean. Ken Jeong thought that it could be Dan Levy. Nicole Scherzinger was pretty sure that it was Tyler Hubbard from “Florida Georgia Line.”
Guest panelist Cheryl Hines thought that it could be “The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons.
The audience was stunned when host Nick Cannon unmasked Caterpillar and showed that the judges had been stumped again. The Caterpillar was really “Queer Eye” host Bobby Berk.

Many contestants have complained about the difficulties performing on stage. Even the Mallard said that it was difficult to see or move around in his staggering 9-foot-6-inch costume.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Berk described what it was like getting into the largest and heaviest outfit in “The Masked Singer” history.
He explained that there were three pieces in total. He would get into the middle part that his arms would slide through, and then that would connect to the tail and the bottom part of the costume. He explained that the head of the costume sat on top of the middle part, but the costume was so large that his head wasn’t actually in the head part of the costume, because it was so tall!
However, Berk went on to tell Variety that, after he finished his first performance, it was a staggering 120 degrees inside his costume and he almost passed out! He said that the feeling of being in the costume was what he felt being buried alive would feel like.
The crew took some extreme measures behind the scenes to help keep Berk cool. For one, he was given an ice bath, and they would also pack the costume full of ice before his performance. They also drilled some holes in the top of the costume to help heat escape. And, when the cameras weren’t rolling, they made sure to blow fans right in his face to keep air circulating throughout the costume.

“The Masked Singer” is so top secret, even the judges have to go through the same level of mystery that the contestants do. Judge Nicole Scherzinger even went as far as to call the “TMS” stage Fort Knox!
However, Berk revealed that most of the cast of “Queer Eye” already knew that he was going to be on the show before season 6 aired.
“We were actually filming the last episode of season 6 of ‘Queer Eye’ the day I got the call to do this,” he explained. “And we were sitting in the trailer together, so they overheard the initial conversation. So, they knew.” He described them as “very, very supportive” throughout his time performing on “The Masked Singer.”
Although Berk didn’t make his way into the finals, fans can still catch him hosting the holiday season of the Netflix glass-blowing competition “Blown Away: Christmas,” which debuts on Friday.
