Leaving London
In a report by Bustle, the "Entrapment" star, 52, put her London house on sale in 1997 to live in Hollywood. At the time, Jones has been granted a six-month work visa for a single scene of work at Universal Studios, but the rising star had more plans in mind.
“That was my Willy Wonka golden ticket,” Jones said. “I knew that I could legally be in America and audition.”
Finding Love
While in the U.S., she landed another job, which turned six months to a year. She worked on the "Mask of Zorro," where Douglas attended its movie screening, meeting Jones for the first time.
“If my daughter says, ‘What was your favorite year?’ I always say 28,” Jones said.
She continued, "I was single when I came to the States. I was single, single, single until I met my husband. I was my own woman. I was ambitious in a good, healthy way. I was in a new country, forming good friendships that are still with me. I became part of an expat world of young actors. It was Russell Crowe, me, Salma Hayek. We used to hang out together, auditioning, going to studios for castings. It was a good time, I have to say."
Douglas and Jones share two children together, Dylan Michael Douglas, 21, and Carys Zeta Douglas, 18.
