Last night’s episode of “The Masked Singer” again kicked off two contestants as it approached the season 6 finale which will take place after next week’s Thanksgiving break.

The first contestant to be eliminated after last night’s performance was the Mallard, who appropriately sang “Fly” by Sugar Ray, as his final song.

When it came down to the judging, Robin Thicke went with Alan Jackson.

Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg thought that it was Jason Aldean.

Ken Jeong ventured a guess of Billy Ray Cyrus.

Nicole Scherzinger guessed Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Guest panelist Cheryl Hines, who is also a judge on Fox’s other musical guessing game show, “I Can See Your Voice,” guessed George Foreman.

The audience was shocked when host Nick Cannon unmasked Mallard to reveal that none of the judge’s guesses were correct and that it was actually “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson underneath the costume.

Robertson Gives Thoughts On His ‘Wood Duck’ Costume

Although he was introduced as the Mallard, Robertson revealed that the costume was actually that of a wooden duck; however, he felt that the clue would have been a bit too on the nose, and so they decided to call it the Mallard instead.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly after his unmasking, Robertson revealed that they had actually discussed several costume ideas before they approached him with the Mallard.

Robertson revealed that he loved the “dapper” look, and described it as a “beautiful, beautiful costume.”

However, there were some drawbacks. With entire costume, complete with the hat, made Robertson 9-foot-6-inches tall.

“I couldn’t see below my nose, so it was very difficult up there moving around,” Robertson explained. “Whatever you’ve heard, how hard it is, it’s even harder than you think when you’ve got that thing on. It’s crazy, crazy hot and I was sweating and you can’t wipe your face. It’s crazy when you’re out there doing it.”

The other contestant to be eliminated last night – the Caterpillar – agrees with him. He stated that he almost passed out after his first performance because it was over 120 degrees inside his costume.

Willie Robertson’s Mother-In-Law Convinced Him To Do The Show

Apparently, “The Masked Singer” is a big hit in the Robertson household! He and his family love watching the show together, and it’s apparently the favorite show of his mother-in-law, who has been encouraged him to do the show for years.

Once his agent got the call asking him to perform the show, he said yes, but he admitted that he “didn’t know what I was getting into.”

“I mean, I’d sang before, but nothing like that,” he explained. “I’ve done TV before, but nothing like that. I was open to the challenge, and it was harder than I thought.”

However, he described the experience as “awesome” and “very fulfilling.”

“It was a challenge, and I was nervous, but you go out there and you do it. And I made it to the semifinals. I feel proud of that,” he shared before adding, “There’s a sense of accomplishment and no one can take that away from you.”

“The Masked Singer” will take a week off for Thanksgiving. New episodes air Wednesday nights at 8 PM EST on Fox.
