The coronavirus pandemic has affected in our lives in different aspects. We've seen restaurants, movie theaters, shopping malls, sporting events, concerts, and more temporarily shut down due to this virus. Many restaurants are still operating in a limited way though such as takeout and delivery. Many states have issued stay at home or shelter-in-place orders to prevent the spread of the virus. People have been encouraged to actually stay home as much as possible and social distance when they do go out such as staying 6 feet away from people.

Donald Trump has received much criticism regarding the outbreak here in the United States and it's much deserved. He ignored all early information regarding the virus in December and way back in 2018, he fired the pandemic response team. Trump even went as far as calling the virus a "hoax." He tried to "open up the country" by Easter and as shown, that isn't happening. While some states are flattening the curve of the virus and may open back up next month, Trump deserves all the criticism he faces but Tracy Morgan apparently doesn't feel this way.

Morgan appeared on "Today" and defended Trump on his handling of the outbreak here in America and believes that one can't control if people get sick. Right now, Morgan feels that now isn't the time to be pointing fingers.

“The struggle is real,” Morgan said to "Today" show co-host Hoda Kotb. “People want to criticize the president, but imagine being a president of a country and have your country get sick. So it’s difficult for him. We’ve all got to pull together as people, now.”

“Now is not the time for blame and all these other things, and anger. It’s here now. We just got to be together. We’ve got to all stay safe. Nobody wants to transmit it, nobody wants to attract it, nobody wants to get it. So let’s just stay safe and do the protocol that we have to do.”

Morgan also explained how a tiger being tested for COVID-19 at the Bronx Zoo gave him a scare and made him want to test his own animals. He has sharks, a moray eel, and 600-pound silver back gorilla.

Despite sadly giving Trump the benefit of the doubt, Morgan did give a shout out to the healthcare workers on the front lines of this pandemic who are risking their lives.

"They know what they're doing, they're fighting the frontline," said Morgan. "I know these people work hard to take care of you. I'm very proud of them, they're my heroes."

Trump needs to be held accountable for his careless preparations for this pandemic. This was far from a hoax, even China knows this. They have opened their country back up after taking all the measures possible with social distancing and staying home to prevent the spread of the virus. Luckily, American citizens are listening to CDC guidelines now and hopefully, some states can start to open back up at the start of May.
