Love him or hate him, for while there have been times Adam Sandler's comedy was cringe-worthy; at times he does make you laugh. Even if most of his movies seem to be constantly panned by the critics, Sandler goes on. He did seem to redeem himself with 'Uncut Gems' but was sidelined by most award juries, something his co-star Jennifer Aniston also spoke about. The real Adam Sandler is a generous guy, and his co-stars in the 'Grown Ups' franchise would happily attest to that.

Sandler Has Been Churning Out Good & Bad Movies

Adam Sandler has made some amazing movies, but he's also churned out complete trash. Think 'The Ridiculous 6' or 'Just Go With It' and even 'Jack and Jill' and 'That's My Boy'. Filled with cheap jokes which not only fall flat but also manage to offend many, many people, these movies and more have forced many fans to bar Sandler from their homes and TVs. Of course, on the other hand, he did make gems like 'Uncut Gems' and 'The Meyerowitz Stories' as well, so there is hope.

'Grown Ups' Was Panned But Earned Big At The BO

'Grown Ups' was another such movie many people took offense too, especially when it came to the critics. The fans loved the movie, enough to make it a BO hit that earned some $270 million while being made on a budget of $80 million. And the cast, the male cast that is, were already friends. So along with Sandler, there was Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. The dudes had a blast making the movie, and Sandler thanked them in a special way.

'Grown Ups 2' Went A Similar Way

The movie earned enough to get itself a sequel, 'Grown Ups 2', repeating the male and female cast, and adding in a few new faces like Taylor Lautner in the process. Made on a budget of $80 million again, this movie slipped a little from the $270 million-mark of the first but still made a cool $247 million for Sandler. So if slapstick comedy and bad jokes work, Sandler will continue to milk it for all its worth till he still can.

Sandler Thanked His Male Co-Stars With Cars

Sandler thanked his friends with a $200,000 Maserati each. Rather, Chris Rock, Kevin James, and David Spade received one each, but since Rob Schneider wanted something that did not murder the environment, he got a Tesla Roadster. So Sandler is generous. However, he did promise that if 'Uncut Gems' did not win him an Oscar, he would make a movie so bad, the jury would regret it. And if he is as true to his word as he is generous, we should all be very scared.
