The CW's 'Gossip Girl' ran from 2007 to 2012. When it aired each week, it felt like every teen and pre-teen in the United States was transfixed for an hour, and then spent the rest of the week recounting its salaciousness, scandal, and, of course, amazing outfits. 'Gossip Girl' came at a time when the economy was hit hard, and the lavish parties and shopping habits of its characters were not only a form of escape, but an aspirational cultural moment. Now that it's being rebooted for a new generation, we can't help but reminisce and wonder what the original stars are up to now.

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester starred as Blair Waldorf, the queen bee of Constance Billard School for Girls. It looks like Meester had the same drive as the character she played, working up from smaller roles on shows such as 'House' and 'Law and Order'. Since wrapping 'Gossip Girl,' Meester has embarked on a music career, made films such as 'Date Night' and 'The Roommate,' and gotten married to fellow teen drama star Adam Brody. She is currently working on the series 'Single Parents'.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively quickly went from fictional New York "It" girl to real-life Hollywood "It" girl. She has starred in such films as 'Age of Adeline,' 'A Simple Favor,' and 'The Green Lantern,' where she met her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The two have three daughters (James, 5, Inez, 3, and another baby girl) together and have been married since 2012. Besides her acting, Lively is known for her style (which she probably cultivated on the 'Gossip Girl' set) and her hilarious relationship with her husband.

Penn Badgley

Penn Badgley, although now a star in his own right, seems to have had a tougher time getting the ball rolling on his career after 'Gossip Girl'. Of course, now he stars on the hit Netflix show 'You,' but his acting career was pretty quiet for a while. One of the reasons for this would probably be his work with his band, 'MXTHER'. They released their first album in 2016 and opened for several acts, such as The Neighborhood and Har Mar Superstar. He married Domino Kirke in 2017, so looks like his personal life is going well, too. Since starring in 'You,' Badgley has become an advocate for healthy relationships and combatting gender-based violence.

Taylor Momsen

Many of us first met Taylor Momsen when she played Cindy Lou Who in 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' way back in 2000. Far from being a sweet, innocent, Who, Momsen has spent most of her post-'Gossip Girl' time playing with her rock band, 'The Pretty Reckless'. In fact, her only acting credit since has been in Fergie's music video for 'L.A. Love'. As for her personal life, Momsen prefers to keep it quiet, but it looks like she is single at the moment.
