'Tiger King' Star Jeff Lowe Says 'Communism Will Rise Again' And Teases Season 2 Of The Series

By Clark Sparky

Jeff Lowe, one of the main subjects of Netflix's documentary series "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness," shared a very unusual video on the social media platform Cameo this week. In it, he talks about communism making a comeback amid the global pandemic and economic crisis.

"This is Jeff and Lauren from the Tiger King," he says in the video. "And you know, with the next financial crisis in full swing, the collapse of global capitalism is all been inevitable, but take comfort Jonathan, communism will rise from its ashes. We will defeat the billionaires and take America back, workers of the world unite. Stay strong, watch Season 2, we won't be there."

Cameo is an app in which people can pay celebrities to record message, so it's unclear if these are Lowe's opinions or if he was asked to say them.

Lowe also teased a Season 2 of "Tiger King" in the clip, but said he won't be a part of it.

On the heels of the success of the series on Netflix, the network ID has green lit its own show investigating Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin more deeply.

"Viewers are understandably riveted by Netflix's Tiger King, but millions of true crime fans around the world were left wanting more," Henry Schleiff, Group President ID, Travel Channel, American Heroes Channel and Destination America, said in a statement. "ID is the perfect place to find the inevitable sequel to this drama — featuring a missing husband, a hit man, and the illegal business of exotic animals. It's time to let the cat out of the bag and address the lingering questions that viewers demand be answered."

One person who likely won't be involved in any further "Tiger King" shows is Myrtle Beach Safari owner Doc Antle. He's been an outspoken critic of the show.

"We are very disappointed that our facility was mentioned in the new Netflix series. We can only assume it is because Doc Antle has been such a high profile wildlife personality for so many decades that his association would create more buzz," he wrote in an Instagram post.

He added: "It is important to understand that this series is not a documentary; it’s sensationalized entertainment with paid participants. Tiger King is the bizarre story of Joe and Carole and their feud.

"These characters are not representative of experts in the wildlife sector or world class facilities like ours here in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach Safari has been recognized by the state of South Carolina as one of the pre-eminent wildlife facilities in the United States. We’ve also received international accolades for the critical role we provide with our qualified, captive breeding programs and our global conservation efforts of threatened and endangered species."
