Selena Gomez just dropped her new album, 'Rare'. She captioned the photo wheel: "The deluxe version of Rare, featuring ‘Boyfriend,’ ‘She’ and ‘Souvenir,’ is out April 9th. You can presave it now and learn more about how to donate to the PLUS1 COVID-19 Fund in my bio. 🌹"

And she included a message in the photo wheel for fans, about the release:

“Many of you know how excited I’ve been to release a song called ‘Boyfriend.’ It’s a lighthearted song about falling down and getting back up time and time again in love, but also knowing you don’t need anyone other than yourself to be happy, "

Selena's message continued: "We wrote it long before our current crisis, but in the context of today, I want to be clear that a boyfriend is nowhere near the top of my list of priorities. Just like the rest of the world, I’m praying for safety, unity and recovery during this pandemic. Because of that I’m personally donating to the Plus 1 COVID-19 Relief Fund as well as donating every $1 of every order in my official store to the fund starting now. Rare (Deluxe) featuring ‘Boyfriend’ is out April 9th,” she concluded her message to fans.

Reactions to her message were positive, with a comment from Christian Lee Navarro, "You're the best."

Other fans told Selena how happy they were for her, proud of her, and how glad they were that she was still in their lives.

One such user wrote, "Well there’s a lot of you created. I’m glad and so blessed you are in my time. 24 years looking at the world around me dark then I hear someone singing songs that are so uplifting and that and Gods grace gave me strength to push and find my way out of the dark."

Her fans encouraged her to never stop writing, to never give up, and were incrediably supportive.

During an Instagram Live show, Bright Minded, with Miley Cyrus, Selena told the other singer-songwriter that she was writing more; but it wasn't music. "I've been writing a lot. I think that's been helping me process what's been going on. There are moments where I just have to center myself and let the thoughts come in. Sometimes I'll write them down, and then completely just sit with, 'What is it? What is the root of this? Why can I get to the bottom of this?', and it really helps."
