Talkshow host Wendy Williams is never one to shy away from controversy, with recent headlines involving her stirring up mixed reactions across the board. Now, it appears the media personality has reignited her feud with 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star NeNe Leakes, who she claims "ambushed" her with an inappropriate phone call.

Williams took to a new episode of her famed talk show, which is now being hosted from her home amidst social distancing guidelines, to slam Leakes for the unpleasant encounter.

During the new livestreamed show, Williams addressed an issue that transpired between her and Leakes during an Instagram Live session on April 3. During the session, Leakes apparently called Williams and attempted to berate her through the phone with a group of people listening on through speaker phone.

"On Friday evening I was in the house minding my own business … my phone rings shortly after 10 o’clock and it’s Nene… I said, 'Hi Nene, why are you screaming? Why are we on speakerphone, your house is big enough? What’re you doing?'" the talk show host explained.

"She [NeNe] said, 'Girl.' I said, 'Yes Nene, why are you talking so loud?' She said, 'I’m here with all my people…'"

Williams, who is notoriously not a fan of Facetime, criticized the reality star, saying, "You know I don’t have face or time for FaceTime, period."

"If I don’t do it for my own parents of the show, why would I be doing it for someone over there. I like NeNe, but she’s still an over-there person to me!" The 'Wendy Williams Show' host continued to say.

The star of 'RHOA' wanted to get Williams on Facetime for a segment while they were filming her reality show, but Williams was having none of it. She explained, "Honestly, here’s where the ambush comes in. She said, 'Wendy, look' — she was in hair and makeup and wardrobe with all her people — she said, 'We filming and I want you to be on the speaker.' I said, 'NeNe, I did that for you one time.'"

"Remember my appearance? One time! I made it very clear, I am not a Housewife. Sorry, my career is a bit … different … than being a Housewife. I don’t need that kind of attention," Williams concluded.

Williams then went on to explain that she eventually hung up on Leakes, and cited the issues that she addressed already regarding her wish to not have exposure on Leake's platform.

"When you call somebody and you want them to participate in something, you call them off speaker in the other room first. Say, 'I want to record with you I wanted to see if I could,'" Williams suggested, before adding that the answer still wouldn't have changed either way, "No, I am not a housewife."
