Halle Berry has been reminded why she had does not enjoy showing her kids off in her social media. The actress recently took to her Instagram and posted a video clip of her son Maceo stomping around and climbing the stairs while wearing a pair of Berry’s high heeled boots
Although the post was meant to be light-hearted and fun, many users wrote some unwelcome comments.
But, before making this a post that could’ve potentially shamed Berry, she took upon her motherly instincts and responded quickly to the commenters.
One commenter wrote, referring to Berry’s daughter Nahla saying, “I hope that’s the daughter.”
Berry responded, “Harmless fun. Tryna survive right now. You feel me?”
Another user wrote, “Nothing fun about this. This is why it’s important for parents to be parents and have control.”
Another user wrote, “She’s having the time of her life.”
Berry went on to respond by saying, “Well it’s a he and he is having a ball. Tryna cope the best he can. Laughter helps a lot right now!”
Berry added, “It’s tight on these kids right now. Let’s have a laugh and some compassion.”
Berry had previously revealed that she had issues with social media trolls and even wanted her kids to stay off of it. In May 2019, Berry was on the Today Show and talked about the decision to keep her kids off of social media as much as she could:
“I just don’t want to plaster them all over the internet. That just doesn’t feel right for me. They’re gonna do that soon enough. That’s gonna be their life when they grow up, and they will choose when that starts,” she said.
The actress continued, “I’ve fought really hard to protect their privacy, and I just want them to have their life and have it be theirs.”
That wasn’t the first time Berry showed her disapproval for social media shaming.
In 2018 Berry mentioned her outlook on protecting her children and told Extra, “That was a struggle. I really don’t like to show my kids very much … but I do realize … my people are, like, solid for me and me for them and I feel like I want to include them. But it’s a fine line because I don’t want to exploit my children … I want to protect my children, so I thought, ‘Half the face is good.’”
Another Hollywood mom, Gabrielle Union, has also been finding ways to pass the time while staying at home. The Former AGT Judge took to her Instagram to show a glimpse into her life in quarantine. The Wife of Dwayne Wade showed off her short, natural curly hair in a photo with her 18-month-old daughter Kaavia.
Union posted, “See @kaaviajames mama’s got hair like yours!! When I took my braids out she was like ??,” Union captioned the photo on Instagram. “Now mom & baby both rocking their natural curls.”
