Gwyneth Paltrow is facing backlash after she took a bit of time and promoted sex toys amid the pandemic and quarantine. She posted recommendations in an article on Goop, which is her lifestyle website that is aimed at women.

The article, which was titled "The best vibrators for solo pleasure and partner play", listed a variety of toy options under various prices. However, the article did not go over well. Many commenters are expressing how bad of a time she picked to promote adult toys.

"She needs to stop and have some decency," said one user. Another said: "She has obviously had one in her ear because she certainly is out of whack," and still one person said: "Oh please! Someone shut that stupid woman up!"

The article is in-depth, and talks about the clitoris, before moving into the how-to's of using a vibrator, and the types of lube that can be used with vibrators. It's an extremely informative article, and when is a better time to 'get to know yourself' with a toy than self-quarantine?

However, the backlash also comes as Paltrow and her husband share a video of a recent chat they had with their marriage and intimacy coach, Michael Boehm. The couple spoke about the way their lives had changed due to quarantine, and what they were frustrated with, and more.

"As a couple it's sort of like, where do you go as a couple when you're all in the house and you've got dogs, and work, and work from home? So there's definitely tensions in the house, and we have the added dynamic of step-parent, and I think there is quite a lot of stress that comes from trying to recalibrate to this new normal and new level of proximity."

She also went on to share a bit about a close friend of hers who was not "feeling very sexual" during this time. Boehm assured Paltrow (and in turn her friend) that there is nothing wrong with feeling sexual or not, it's actually common in a pandemic, who knew?

Boehm said: "Most women I've talked to are not feeling very sexual... the female body when put under stress goes into survival mode. Food, comfort and eating sweets to up the body fat; most women are reporting these are the things they want to do. They don't want so much pleasure."

Boehm continued, "Opening to pleasure leads to all others sorts of emotions. It's fairly normal for women to have emotional response in the context of sexual pleasure and orgasm, crying, even anger things like that." Boehm did note that she believes boredom will "kick in" and sexual desires will return.

Whatever you are up to in quarantine, at least you're not bored, we hope. Eating food, having sex, talking, getting mad at your significent other for being at home all the time, so on. Just think about how your animals feel now that you're home all the time. Is your cat mad?
